Default Carnival's 2 day sale!

Anybody taking Carnival up on their one (actually 2 - today was for former cruisers also) day sale?

My TA called because she knows I am close to booking and the "sale" is offering a 2 category upgrade. Unfortunately I don't *quite* have the deposit.....

Dororthy, a two category upgrade may be only moving you up 2 decks, from say deck 6 to 8. Unless they offer outside for the price of inside or balcony for outside ect. you're not going to get more luxurious accomodations just the same on a diferent deck..

I thought the offer was just for today? My ta said a two category upgrade today only. Did yours say that?

I just called. We have a cruise booked for June of next yr. Since the price has gone up since I booked, we'd have to pay an extra 100.00 pp and go up only 2 decks. Not such a good deal for us.

Yes I know Duke. I've *had* a within category upgrade. It depends on your point of view. Enough people think the higher the deck the better. Not sure if I'm one of them, but many folks are....

Yes, I also called to see if we could "do better" and are also booked on Next June 27th to Canada/New England. Our Carnival Rep said prices went up...wow, never really heard that happen', so we would'nt benefit from the sale. It must be a sort of sought after trip to seem like it's selling out many months in advance.

We were booked on a guarantee balcony for July on the Victory, I called our rep and she did upgrade us to an assigned cabin on the Verandah deck. I am also not quite sure how I will like the higher deck but we are going to be mid ship so that should help. Thank goodness for bonine!

I'd rather see a price reduction than a category upgrade. Unless it is inside to outside, or outside to balcony, the upgrade really may not matter that much.

We booked yesterday and went from a guarentee balcony to a category 8D balcony. We ended up on the Lido Deck. Is that good?

Carm&Rico, of course Lido is the top deck and as Dorothy stated its a personal preference. Me? I always try to book midship and I don't care about how high the deck is. Look at it this way, in rough seas the upper decks get a lot more movement than the bottom decks. I've been on both and I would never pay more for a higher deck. If the ship starts rolling some night and you are up high you'll know what I mean.
