Inspiration or Miracle?

Hi,

Hope you can help me out here.

This will be our first cruise and I am pretty anxious. Can't decide whether to take the Inspiration which is a 5-day cruise or the new Carnival Miracle which is a 7-day cruise. I heard a 5-day cruise is too short. My husband and I will be traveling with two kids ages 6 and 10. Hope they have enough activities for the kids.

I vote for the Miracle!! 7 days go by too fast for us

I was on the Inspiration last year when it was a 7 day cruise and we had a fabulous time. We loved the itinerary. Next year we're sailing on the Miracle. I think the 5 day would just be too short, unless you're planning to do something else. In 2003 we did a five day cruise out of Port Canaveral with two days at Universal Studios prior to the cruise which the kids enjoyed. You could do something like that, with going to Busch Gardens for a couple of days and then the cruise.

I would prefer a 7 day to a 5, but it depends on personal choice. If you have to travel much to get to the point of departure, you may have to add another day or 2 to the duration to account for this travel time. Many people get to the point of departure the day before in case there are any travel problems or to give themselves enough time buffer.

As for Inspiration vs Miracle, I'd go with the Miracle. Much newer ship, however prices on it seem to be among the highest in Carnival's fleet.
