Beware if you book a cruise on any liner with Legendary Journeys. They give you all this material that is in fine print, and if you are older as I am, you can't read it and their people that book you certainly don't give you all the firm info. They just say it is in the book. We booked a cruise on Carnival two months ago. We gave them $2043 for a deposit. The cruise is in August. They will not give us back our deposit, said that it is their policy to keep all deposits. We thought that giving them 8 months notice would be great. This isn't our first cruise, we have had nothing but wounderful results with all the travel agents , but it will be out last booked through LEGENDARYT JOURNEYS. Just be careful when you make a deposit. We had insurance, but they still refused us.
If you paid with a CC, (which you always do), find out who it was paid to. It SHOULD have been to Carnival. Carnival will refund all of your deposit that far out from the sailing date. If the agency charged it to them then contact your CC and dispute the charges. There is no way you should end up losing your deposit. Some companies do charge a cancellation fee but it is usually around $100 and even then I would not book with anyone that has those terms.

It sounds like more than a deposit that you made, most likely you paid the full amount? You are in the period where you should be able to cancel and get a full refund back, I'd call Carnival direct and also your credit card company, this just seems very strange.
It also sounds to me like what you paid $2043 was a full price, ALL cruise lines will keep a specified percentage but never the full amount, the TA may also keep a small amount for processing but I cannot imagine it would be more than $100 per person, FIGHT IT, huury and call your CC company and file a disputed charge, you only have a limited time to file a dispute, let us know what happens.
