Default 12/18/04 triumph disaster

did anyone experience the overcrowded and overbooked disaster on the 12/18 carnival triumph. the worst trip we ever took - (5) crusies - poor service, poor teenage supervision, poor everything - terrible line, got to eat pizza once. ice cream machine was a virtual toy for the teenagers - they just kept running the ice cream out onto the floor, till it was empty. they were running the halls, banging on everyones cabin doors.
and the security did absolutely nothing about it. Where were the parents? Having a ball for themselves, while we all suffered. I will never ever cruise with carnival again.
This was my second carnival trip and they can't compare with the others. I think the idea of tipping up front is great, less confusion for the cruisers, however, it allowed the staff to not care one bit about their service. They didn't have to worry about their tips.
Did not realize that week the students were off from school, although I think half of them were taken out of school for the vacation.

The stop in Puerto Rico was ridiculous - 5pm to midnight - couldn't book any tours because everything is closed at that hour - why stop there at all?

Had it not been for the gorgeous weather there would have been 4 more missing people overboard for sure.

Wow, we were on the Triumph 12-11-2004 sailing and had a GREAT time, although I agree the auto tipping is awful and should be eliminated, we remove it by our second day onboard, especially because our waiter and asst were terrible and got almost nothing from us.
That week I can imagine there were too many kids as it was xmas/ New Years Holiday week off from school, we always take our kids out of school one week before this week or 1 week before spring breal week because of a problem we had on RCCL, there were young boys(13-16yrs old) running around with there pants falling off (without underwear,OMG) I believe there friends were stealing while the guests were chuckling and thinking it was funny, I did not think it was especially being a girls father.
Although CCLs shows were not too good we think there food was the BEST of all the different cruise lines we have been on.
