Default What to do in Progreso/Merida

We are looking to book the Carnival Glory in May 2005 - need to know what you recommend in Progreso/Merida - we are very active 50+ - like snorkeling, hiking, etc. - and love hot weather! Want to book ourselves, not Carnival shore excursions! Welcome all ideas- we are very experienced - been on 7 cruises and looking forward to this one! Thanks,

Progreso is an odd little shipping port. I would suggest getting off the ship, taking the free shuttle down to the little shpping area and then taking an excursion to one of the resorts. That is what we did and it was fun.

I would either to into Meridia or stay on the ship and enjoy the spa discounts they have on port days!
