I'm going on the Carnival Legend this June and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on shore excursions for any of these ports? Some one was telling me Virgin Gorda is a must see and Blackbeards Castle.
Re: Shore Excursions in San Juan, St Thomas & Tortola
Blackbeards Castle in St Thomas is nice but it is really only a stone tower and on a hotels property. It is accessable and free to climb. You can easily walk up to it from town. It is a fairly steep hike and you even climb what is known as the "99" stairs and yes there are 99 of them. Actually a pleasant hike and nice views.

Ive lived in St thomas , now back in the States, Virgin Gorda is hard if you dont get the right ferry,s better yet go to St john,s out of RED HOOK go to Cruz or trunk bay. They are one of the nicest beaches in the entire carib

Where does the ferry take you when you get to St. Johns? Is it near Cruz, or Trunk Bay. If not do you take cabs or buses......want to shop and swim at a nice calm beach.....maybe even see stingrays....is that possible?
