I have been talking to my friend Ralph, better known as 'Wee Jimmy' who is currently onboard the Carnival ship Triumph as the Asst Cruise Director. He said that one of the biggest thrills he gets is when peple come up to him and say hello and that they heard about him on Cruisemates. So what I am asking is that anyone that is cruising on the Triumph in the next six months take a minute to go up to 'Wee Jimmy' and tell him "Hi" from the Cruisemates gang. A little info on his nickname "Wee Jimmy". Ralph is really short, like 5' nothing. <G> That is where the "Wee" comes in. He is also a true Scotsman and all Scots are called "Jimmy" hench the nicknam "Wee Jimmy". It certainly is not an insult and Ralph likes the name. The only thing else I ask is that you ladies NOT ask him what he wears under his Kilt. (Hint, you might be embarassed if you actually looked) <> Thanks folks, I ask yo to say 'Hi' to him as believe it or not, being a crewmember is actually a bit loney job and they just love to talk to people from home or someplace they know well such as Cruisemates.
All I know is when I was on the Triumph in October, I wanted to put him in my pocket and take him home. Wee Jimmy is the greatest!
WE LOVE WEE JIMMY!!!!
A bad cruise is still better than a good week at work!!!

We will be on the Triumph to Canada June 27, and can't wait to say hi to Wee Jimmy! The people on these boards are always so informative, it has made planning our first cruise very special, thank so much!
Eaky, I was on the same cruise as you. Wee Jimmy is the best guy ever. He made my Triumph cruise on the 23rd of october the favorite of my 7 cruises. He knew me by name by the last day, and now we e-mail every now and then. He is possibly the best person I know, and should always be. Amusing, nice, and... well, everything else.
Wee Jimmy will be onboard for at least 4 months or through April but I am not sure how long this contract is. It may be as long as 6 months which would put him there until the first of July. He may return to the Triumph after his break or he may be assigned on another ship or he may be promoted to Cruise Director. I just don't know and I don't think he knows anything either except for when this contract ends. What I intend to do is pass this entire thread along to him in a week or two so please send your comments!
We loved Wee Jimmy when we on our Oct. 16 cruise. He was one of the
many highlights of our trip. We spoke with him after one of the shows and
he was very nice and very pleasant to talk to and really appreciated and
cared about the passengers. Would love to see him promoted to Cruise
Director. In fact when I asked him if he may be a CD any time soon he
said no way he was merely an amatuer in the business. I would definitely
try to book a cruise with him as CD if he should become one.
Thanks, Jim! We'll be on the Triumph April 16th and will be sure to say hello to Wee Jimmy! I've heard so many awesome things about him from this board - I'm so looking forward to "meeting" him and having a great time on the Triumph!
Intersting note - I'm the webmaster for the St. Andrew's Society of Connecticut - glad to hear that Wee Jimmy embrases his Scottish Heritage!
Hi guys and gals,
I thought I might enclose a photo of "Wee Jimmy" so that those of you who do not know him can more easily pick him out. (Not like the little druid is hard to find. <>) Anyway, this is Ralph.
Nice picture Jim, that's him alright, ooo memories. lol. I was very pleased that he knew me by name. He sat by me and my mother during the first production show. Wonderful world, I believe it was. He was so funny. He found out my mom had a thing for one of the dancers and told the dancer. The dancer talked to my mom at one of the bingos and smiled at her often. She had a blast with that. Wee Jimmy is like the coolest guy in the world, and he made me dread leaving the cruise. By the way Jim, my mom said she did look under the kilt, and she said he was wearing something under it. . You can tell she is curious and was definitely a particapator in many of the games, so Ralph knew her pretty good as well.
On our Oct 2nd sailing he made my daughters cruise. He signed our scavenger hunt
requirement list as "one of the Dancers" since none could be found during the hunt.
He said that he sang and danced with the rest of them all the time and was deffinately part of the entertainment staff.Well my daughter got a Ship on a stick for her efforts and still today talks about Wee Jimmy's kindness.

I met Wee Jimmy last week on the Triumph. We didn't get to chat like we wanted to since he was always very busy. He remembered me from Cruisemates and and said we needed to chat but the opportunity didn't present itself. i think he is ripe for a promotion to cruise director. During the debarkation talk the Captain said that he was leaving on his vacation and he wished Wee Jimmy good luck on his possible cruise director position and then later in the talk Mark Price mentioned that Wee Jimmy could very well be a new cruise director very soon. Please keep us posted. Also, for when you send this thread to Jimmy....Sorry we didn't get to have our chat!!!
