Default Galveston

Is there an airport in Galveston, or is the nearest airport in Houston? If the nearest airport is in Houston, how far to Galveston? What has anyone done for the drive between the two? Thanks

We rented a car for the drive from Houston. We came in a day early so there wouldn't be any problems and decided to go to the Kemah Boardwalk. They have a restraunt there called The Aqaurium. It is absolutely awsome. They have a huge curved wall aqaurium as well as several smaller (but still big) ones. The inside is decorated as if you are in an aqaurium. One of the aqauriums is sto stories tall with a spiral staircase around it. It was one of the highlights of our vacation.

You need to fly into Houston. There are two airports there. One is about an hour from Galveston, the other about an hour and a half. Check on line for limo services. I was on the Elation in October, and we used a limo service. It was a flat rate of $90 for the Towne Car. With 3 of us traveling, it was $30 apiece. There was a couple staying at the same hotel as us the day before who were using the hotel shuttle service to take them back to the airport so they could get the Carnival shuttle at $33.

One is BUSH airport on the North side - about 1 1/2 hours away and one is Hobby airport about 1 hour away. Hobby is much smaller and the home of Southwest airlines.. Debbie
