Re: Do they sell alcohol in the Duty Free shops onboard?
Yes they sell alcohol on board but you don't get it until the last night of your cruise. Prices are ok, sometimes you can find better deals in port. Cozumel had some really good deals in the shops on the pier.

Re: Do they sell alcohol in the Duty Free shops onboard?
What I do is to write down the prices of the liquor in the ship's shop, and make a comparison when going ashore. Also, make sure you check the size of the bottles....can be deceiving. I've found that the Carnival prices are very similiar to the shops on shore.
And yes, you cannot take your purchased liquor from the ship's shop to your cabin - except on the last evening of the cruise. If you purchase it earlier in the cruise, they will hold it and deliver to your cabin on the last evening.
Do they sell alcohol in the Duty Free shops onboard?
When we were on the Conquest in January, they had a first night only special. If you bought more than $30 worth, they would throw in a free bottle of gin, rum or vodka (their brand). Probably to incent you to buy from them and not price shop in the Islands. I didn't find any better prices ashore on what I bought (scotch) but didn't do exhaustive comparisons.

Cotton has a great idea. The prices onboard are almost always just as good or better than that ashore. The differance is that you have a wider variety ashore.
