We did Stingray City in the morning with a ship's tour and then walked to 7 mile beach from the bus terminal which was only about 2 blocks away. We did have to arrange and pay for our own way back to the ship but the beach was beautiful. Stingray City was fabulous too! Great pictures.

I would have to say Sting Ray City. It is my favorite shore excursion of all time, although 7 mile beach is also very nice. You might have time for both. If not then you will need to book another cruise to the Western Caribbean and do the one that you missed. Have a great time whatever you decide.

I agree, do Sting Ray City. It was so cool. We were waist deep in water and the rays would come right up to you and rub against your legs. You can even hold one if you want. I think you would have time for both like we did. We would have stayed longer but they guys wanted to go back for lunch. ENJOY!

another vote for Sting Ray City/Sandbar. Its one of my favorite memories of crusing. You stand in the water, its about waist deep, the rays come right up to you, they flutter against your legs, it feels like a gentle tickle, you can pet them, and feed them if you like.

Okay,

I may be convinced here. On the excusion site on Carnival it lists two Stringray choices. One is Stringray City Tour and the other is Stingray sandbar tour. There descriptions are similar. Which one did you all do????

Thanks again

Linda

if you get off the ship right away do the stingrays with a local, there all at the port, half the cost and then you have time to do the beach. the locals will drop you off and its 4.00 a person to get back. if you do the ship excursion you get there with 100"s of other people

I did the 7 mile beach last week and would not do that again unless I went to the public beach. At the Beach Club, which is the excursion that is offered was cramed full of people from two ships. The area was rather small for the number of people that were there. You get one drink ticket and no meal. The food was rather expensive.

As much as I don't like them critters, My vote is for Stingray City!

We did Stingray City and it was fabulous!!!! So much fun to see the Stingrays up close, to "hold" them and really to cool to feed them. Definately go on this excursion!!!

I would vote for Stingray Sandbar also. We did the excursion with Captain Marvins-check out his website. It is about 5 minutes walk to their office from the tender dropoff.
You should have time to get dropped off at 7Mile Beach and then taxi back to ship AFTER the Stingray excursion-but it really depends what time your ship is in Port.
Have fun on your cruise!

Do Stingray City, but not the sand bar. We did the coral reef and had some of the best snorkeling we've ever experienced.

We used George Bush LTD. Very nice captain and easy going.

I went to Stingray City last August. It was great! I have not been to 7 Mile Beach, so I can not comment. My friend's six year old was intimidated by the Stingrays and would not go in the water until the tour was half over. Other, slightly older boys went in with no problem. The water is only about 3 to 4 1/2 feet deep and you can wear a life vest. Bring an under water camera. Each picture you by will cost more than a 27 picture under water camera. If I am in Grand Cayman again, I would do Stingray City again.
