Default Rough seas in Western Carribbean??

I've read on some posts where people are saying that the seas have been unusually rough lately. Anyone been cruising lately that can confirm or deny this?

Just returned from sailing Western on CCL Victory 1/30-2/6 and the sea's were very calm. The last sea day returning to Miami the sea's were at 6' with wind at 30 knotts in the Bahama Straits.

Just got back form the 1/29 Sensation cruise and the seas were not to bad...there were times you could feel the boat moving....(.or maybe that was those " drinks of the day " !!!!)
But no it was fine..certainly did not put me off going again..

We were on the Conquest, next to the Victory at Grand Cayman last Thursday and the seas were flat, which made for easy tendering. On the trip out and back, through the Gulf, the seas were running about 6 ft. from the northwest, but you could barely detect any motion. The Caribbean portion was fairly calm throughout. No worries.

I just got off the Carnival Sensation and it rocked the entire voyage. Not too bad at times, but other times it was. But it was constant.

With the Canadian cold fronts coming all the way down this year it has been cold and bad weather - it even snowed on Christmas in Houston - hasn't happened in 15 years. SOOO the Gulf of Mexico can get very rough with the fronts coming through - it is not like going out of Florida and being in the ocean or Caribbean Sea. If going out of New Orleans or Galveston or Mobile AL it can be rough depending on the weather. Debbie

YES!! we cruised from Galveston to Cozumel on Feb 4 - everyone was complaining - average waves of 8-10 feet - popped lots of Gravol (better than Dramamine anyday but only available in Canada)

STILL sea sick - hate to say but won't do this again - YES we were told the Ecstasy is an older ship but getting shaken about while trying to enjoy a drink and show - not - back to Jamaica MON
