My name is Jane and I live in Southern California. I am an
experienced cruiser and am in the process of booking my May 2005
trip right now. We have travelled 12 times in the last 12 years and
this will be our first time on Carnival with our kids. We are specifically looking at Carnival this time because they are the only line where the kids program will keep my 5&6 year olds together in the same group.
Here are my questions: First, does anyone know with certainty,
whether or not the pools on the Pride have fresh water or salt
water? Second, we usually travel for 7 or 10 days, but this
will be the first 12 day cruise (Hawaii). What the heck do you do
for five solid days at sea???? Does the ship offer actvities that
you don't usually find on a typical 7/10 day trip or is it more of
the same (bingo, horse races, etc....). I'm all for snoozing out by
the deck and dropping a few bucks in the casino, but I'd love to
have more options when I'm surrounded by the Pacific Ocean for five
Lastly, I seem to remember years ago when we sailed Carnival (Mex River & Cozumel), the daytime lunch selections were really lacking. I remember being surpised to see cold cuts as the primary item at the lunch buffet. Is this still the case or has that changed? The last few years we have sailed RCCL and we are just looking to do something fresh and different this year, however with a 12 day cruise, bad food can really damper the experience. What can you share regarding the food situation?
