days in miami night before cruise out of miami

cruising out of miami on the 17th of july and need to stay sat. july16th with five adults and four kids. anyone stay at this place other than one response i got. what was the eating situation nearby walking distance? what about trans. to the pier next morning and rates. how was checkout. ? was it crowded and unorganized? we stayed at the Marriot Biscayne Bay, which is 5 minutes from the pier. You can go to Bayside with is a five minute ride from the Marriot dinner, also has many stores.

In June 2002, we stayed at the Best Western right near the port. We requested a bayside room on one of the top floors and we could see the ships in port which was fun. It is right across from the Bayside shopping/restaurant area which is a fun place to hang out and within walking distance. The port is a 5 minute tax ride at most. I found the hotel through AAA and it was a 3D at that time, not sure what the status is of it now.
