Default Spirit and Hawaii

We are considering booking a cruise on Spirit to Hawaii. I would appreciate some advice on balcony cabins....ie best floor, location, etc to book on. What are the extended balcony cabins and how do they differ from the regular balconies? I noticed on the photo galleries that some balcony cabins have obstructed views with lifeboats. What floors are these on?

Any general advice/info on Spirit would be appreciated.

Also, feedback on the Hawaiian cruise with Carnival would be appreciated, as well as any advice on not-to-miss excursions.

We have cruised 5 times before, but with RCCL and Celebrity, never with Carnival. Will we likely be pleased or disappointed with Carnival?
