Default Elation out of Galveston

I am torn between the Elation out of Galveston or the Grand Princess. Does anyone have any reviews or advise about these two ships and the ports of call?? My husband and I will be traveling with our 14 yr old twin daughters.

Thanks for the help

I sailed the Elation last May and it was terrific and am sailing the Grand in November. Feel free to ask any questions. My girlfriend just returned from the Grand last week and said it was absolutely wonderful. Carnival has more of a party atmosphere, which if your cruising for the first time that's what most people want. Fun, fun, fun.

I have a 14 y/o son and a 15 y/o daughter. After MUCH research, we chose the Elation. We will be leaving Galveston for a Spring Break Cruise on March 20, 2005. Can't wait!

We are leaving on the Elation in August. Any suggestions on what to do in Belize and Progresso? No kids will be with us.

I agree w/ Buttercup....DO THE CHICHEN -ITZA RUINS!!! It is worth the 2 hour bus drive to see this magical, mystical place. In Belize I would recommend the Horshoe Cay Snorkel and Party Boat excursion. It is a new excursion for this itinerary and it is alot of fun and you see some beautiful sights.

the elation was alot of fun. The staff were awesome, particularly Peter the purser, Stu the maitre'd in the Imagination Room, Jason the social host, Wayne at the shore excursions desk. I would definitely go Elation again.
