On the Glory it was smart casual. Jackets required for men but no ties. Ladies wore dresses or nice pantsuits. We loved the experience and thought it was worth the $.

On the Valor the men were only required to wear a jacket in Scarlett's on formal night , otherwise it was smart casual (dockers and nice shirt) My husband did wear a sports jacket and was glad he did because it was a little chilly in there

That's the way it was on the Conquest also. Men only had to wear a jacket on formal night. I called to make sure when I made the reservations.

Best check with the ship then as on the Legend when we were on her both times jackets were required for men in that restaurant. That was what I understood it was on all ships. The cost last time we did it was $25pp charged to your S&S card.

You have to add that on the 'chec' you are presented.

The $25 charge is considered the gratuity. But, you are welcome to add to that if you wish.

According to Carnival's websit:

"The reservation fee is $25 per guest, per entree. This fee includes the wait staffs' gratuity; additional gratuities are optional and may be extended in cash or to the guest's Sail & Sign Account, at the guest's discretion. "

Irish - "The $25 charge is considered the gratuity"........??? (That would be one big tip!)

I'm sure you meant to say "The $25 charge INCLUDES the gratuity."

We just got back from sailing on Glory and their non-formal night dress code is anything but shorts, tanks & baseball caps. We saw people in the dining room in jeans and t-shirts.

Since this is the specialty restaurant thread, my response is in that reguard only. They do have a different dress code than the dining room. As I commented above, jackets, no ties, are required for men, nice pant suits or dresses for ladies on NON-formal nights.

When we dined in the specialty restaurant on Disney our server told us several times "the tip is not included." We were under the impression the cover included the tip.

Happy Sailing.
