Default Spa Services?

Has anyone had their hair done by the Spa people on the ship?

I would like to find out about having my hair styled for the formal dinner...

Can anyone give me any info?

Thanks...

We sailed on the Inspiration in January for our 25th anniversary. Both my husband and I got our hair cut and styled as a special treat. They did a great job and their styling products were not overpriced as far as full service salons go. Our guy was from Croatia and had trained in New York with Revlon salons. He was good. From the other folks I saw leaving the salon, they all seemed to be good. The salon was smaller than I would have thought though, but it was nice. Book your appt early if you need a specific night, preferably right after you get on the ship.

Seems like his shampoo, cut & style was $30 and mine was like $45 I think. We both bought some styling products that the stylist used too. It's definitely going to be higher than your usual full service salon, but I usually pay $35 for a cut where I normally go. I don't use those hair cut in a box type places in the shopping centers so I am used to paying more than $10.00 to get my hair cut so it didn't seem out of line. A friend of mine pitched a fit because she only pays $15.00 to get her hair cut.........hope that helps. Just make your appt soon. We went up right after we visited with the maitre d to change our seating time.....................before muster stations, etc. They will cut your hair with shampooing.......I remember me having to ask him to shampoo my husband's hair, he was going to just do a wet cut so I know they will do that too if you ask...........

Thanks for the info.... I got my haircut about a week and 1/2 ago so I'm not wanting a cut, just maybe an "updo" (?) for the dinner.... I'll check with them though as soon as possible after we board...

I appreciate the response very much

i get my hair done for formal night. They do a good job. I don't get updo's because my hair isn't long enough, i get mine washed, blow dry and then curled with an iron. The cost runs around $35.00- no products. Updos are more, the charge goes by how long, how thick your hair is and how fancy you want to get. Make your appointment as soon as you board the ship.

Once again, thanks for the info. I have fairly long hair and have never been very good at doing anything other than putting a barrette in it.

Ponytails I can handle, but I really wanted more than a barrette "pull-up" when I wear my nice dress.

I really appreciate it and will talk to them as soon as we get on board......

Can't wait to go......

You'll have fun! Cruises are special and I'm glad there are those that continue to want to make them special! You'll just be beautiful I know! Go to Claire's or WalMart and get a fancy comb, barrette or something for them to stick in your hair too!

We were on the Inspiration in April 2004 and my daughter wanted an updo for formal night. She has hair to about the middle of her back and it is very thick. She was quoted $110. Needless to say she decided to do her own hair.

$110, that's too high. I'd do my own too!

FYI - if you want a fancy barette or clip in your hair, buy it at home, the salon on the ship charges like $20.00 for a fancy barette.

I tried to tell her it would be that much, but she didn't think it would so I told her to go ask! This kid has so much hair I wasn't surprised at that amount. I would have taken someone at least an hour and a half to get it all up the way she wanted it.

Well, I wonder how a ponytail would look with my dress? lol

I used to have a great clip that would do the trick and look "fancy" but they don't make them anymore and I can't find mine.

Maybe just a barrette with some hair pulled back and leave the longer alone will have to
do. I'm not paying that much for sure......

Thanks for all the responses.

P.S. DARCY!!! you are the queen, you have helped me so much. I can't wait to get on the INSPIRATION in 4, count 'em, 4 days........

Lisa

You'll have a great time. We loved the Inspiration. I would have sailed on her again this year except she's not doing a 7 day cruise. I'm praying for sunshine and smooth seas for you.

Darcy
