How soon can you get off the ship on the last day of your cruise? I am having a hard time with flights and if anyone could give me an idea how soon we can leave th ship, would me great.
Hi Tashi,
If you book a flight around noon, you should be fine, anything earlier is possible, but you never know when you will actually get off the ship.
if you have a early flight take your ticket to the pursurs office when you get on board and they will give you early departure luggage tags. we had a 10:00 am flight and were off the ship at 7
It depends on what airport and port as well. In FFL a 11:30 flight is no problem. At Mia you are cutting it slightly close especially if there is a problem. In Port Canaveral flying out of Orlando, don't book before 1PM. Understand that until Homeland Security has cleared the ship nobody is getting off and they could care less about what time your flight is. They first have to clear the entire ship. That could happen by 7am if the ship docks at 4am but still unusual. Normally they start allowing people off around 8:30 or 9AM but I have seen it go until 11am a couple of times.

Hi, We were on the Valor 2 weeks ago.( Port of Miami) They now have self assist deembarkation. What this means if you are an American Citizen and can carry off ALL you own luggage you can start getting off the ship around 7:30am. We went to the theatre (deck 3, where they let you off) at about 7:15 and waited for the all clear announcement. They actually started letting us off before the loudspeaker announcement. We got a cab and were at Fort Lauderdale airport ( about an 1/2 hour drive ) and managed to get on an earlier flight 10:10. We originally had a 1:15 because we too were nervous about getting there on time. Plus you do not have to put your luggage out the night before
thanks for letting me know this. This helps alot. We are all citizens exccept for one person. Any idea how different the process for someone having a greencard?
