Can anyone give me some ideas how to ID my luggage.... someone said brightly colored shoelaces and I read somewhere on this board some other ideas, but can't remember........
I'm leaving next Monday and would welcome any advice....
Thanks,
My only advice is to NOT use any rectangular shaped color device -- even luggage tags. On our luggage, I have neon pink and neon yellow luggage tags so that I can easily find my luggage. Well, claiming our luggage was a huge pain. They had given us lime colored tags to put on our luggage and when we went to claim them, they weren't in the lime tag area. Guess where they were??? Yup, in the yellow and pink tag areas. It took us over an hour to find our luggage --- that has NEVER happened to us on any other cruise line.
i have walmart plastic bags tied to my luggage, its worked well for my years, and so far no lost luggage or complaints, and i can see my luggage coming far enough ahead, so i dont have to do the excuse me, excuse me thing and hope i get them first round
WE put those neon pink and yellow tags on the zippers top and front of our luggage.my sister inlaw puts the bumper stickers on the back of hers from there high school.
I figure with 5 luggage tags all the same color I shoud be able to find them have had no trouble.

We use yellow duck tape on our handles and can see them a long ways. Was even able to use the taped handles to rescue one suitcase when someone inadvertenly thought mine was theirs. We had a giggle over it

We had bright orange flag(survey) 'tape' on our handles. Well, so did a few other people. Will add more colours next time. At least it did help some!!!!!!!!! Definitely do something!- black luggage as far as the eye can see!!!!!!!!!!
Have a great cruise!!!
I'm from Kentucky, I thought about wrapping a KY basketball bumper sticker around the handle (didn't really want to put it on the suitcase) and stick it to itself, but then I don't want it to go into the Blue tag area......
How ironic, am also leaving on a cruise next monday (Feb 28 Carnival Paradise) also.
Just another idea in addition to all the suggestions above is to purchased iron on letters at a craft store (think it was Joanne's" ) They have different colors and sizes. Put them on the top near the handles so they could be seen while the suitcase is standing. This has helped identify them.
In addition to luggage tags, I cut up wide strips of bright plastic bags from the retail stores (Burdines in Florida had hot pink ones) and tie them onto the luggage handles and stuffed one in my suitcase in case they tore off during handling, you can spot these from across the room. Also have purchased small, inexpensive ($.89) bright cotton neck scarves from Wal-Mart to tie onto my luggage, these also pop out in the sea of luggage.
I'm sure I will but If you like you can send me a reminder at Jabeaujo@aol.com and that way, I'll make sure and let you know.
I am on this board all the time since I've had my cruise booked (November).
I am sooooooo ready to go....
Lisa :--)
P.S. Do you have your room already booked, if so, which one? I wish I would have made a different choice, but we don't plan on spending alot of time in the room anyway. We on in the front on the riviera deck. I'm afraid I should have gotten something higher up.
We booked our cruise just a few weeks ago. It was a last minute decision based on the good news we got when we did our taxes. We are going to be on M94. I wanted something near the middle of the ship since neither one of us have cruised and wanted to make sure we would be ok with the seasickness thing.
Get a permanent marker in a contrast color and write your first initial and last name on your bags in very, very large letters. No way will you not find your luggage!
If your luggage is either black, dark blue or dark green you can also use washable fabric paint in a neon color like orange. You'll be able to find your luggage very easily.
