Default Carry on

I have never previously had a carry on so I was wondering if this would be ok. I have a leather bag 21 inches long, 8 inches wide and 13 inches in height. I want to carry on all my bathroom stuff, including my bottles of perfume, jewerly etc. I will have nail clippers and a razor in the bag also. I was wondering if this would be ok. I just think it would be easier to do this so I can unpack that when I get on board and have my personal things with me incase my suitcase doesn't come before dinner. If anyone else has ever carried on all their personal stuff or knows if it will be ok please post. Thank you.

Well since 9-11 the ports are more tight with the carryon's only because it has to go thru the scanning machine.... if you think it would fit thru the scanning machines like at the airports that is fine.

I always carry on because of makeup-contacts, drinks etc.

I have had as many as three carry-on's. Camera bag, small bag with cosmetics, jewelry, etc.

Haven't had any problems.

They may confiscate your nail clippers and razor. I would put those in my checked luggage.

Small nail clippers and saftey razors are okay in your carry on bags now. We carry all our personal stuff in our carry on bag. Also we have our perscription drugs and other stuff we might need or not want to get checked in, camera is one item. the best thing to do is check with your airline to find out the max size for your carry on. From the size you mentioned it should be okay on any airline.

Good Luck and Have Fun

Suzie

Thanks for the info. I don't have to take a plane because I live 45 minutes away from New Orleans. Just wanted to make sure I could carry all my bathroom and personal supplies.

I recently boarded with a Leatherman tool attached to my belt loop, they just herded me through the machine and kept on going.
(this is a multi tool with knife-screwdriver-and 7 more misc sharp tools)(I never leave home without it)

Big Craig - I'm just curious. Why would you need those things on a cruise?

I think it's SCARY that you got on a ship like that! You'd never make it thru airline security, and I'm really surprised you didn't set off all kinds of bells and whistles coming onto the ship!

I had my purse with me on a flight a few months ago (through at least 4 check points). When I got home I realized that I have a 3' knife in it!

My carryon always contains my makeup, change of clothes, camera and meds. Ya never know when you're going to get stuck somewhere or when your luggage will turn up missing.

I just got off of the Inspiration. We all had a carry on with everything we would need for the first day until our luggage arrived in our rooms. My bag had all my cosmetic stuff in it - including razors, nail clippers etc. No one batted an eye at it. I don't see why they would. You are taking it on the boat and would have access to it if you carried it on or they delieverd it to your room. Also, Carnival supplied razors in our room.

Can't think what would be the problem taking anything "sharp" on board - don't you get steak knives with dinner? Weird. ttfn Jennifer
