LAX to Long Beach Pier

Any good shuttle service or transportation service to use to get to/from airport?
Carnival site says 23 miles or 50 minutes. Another person said it could cost $100+ for a cab ride! If ther aren't any traffic jams. Has anyone sailed fron Long Beach? How did you do it?

Doesn't Carnival offer shuttle transportation from LAX to the Long Beach port? Depending the time of your flight arrival, traffic can be a real problem, especially when nearing the port. I know for a fact that the Long Beach Freeway (which takes you directly to the port) gets extremely congested due to all the freight trailers leaving the port).

If it's 23 miles from LAX to the port, I think it would be around 45 minutes (at the most), if there's a steady flow of traffic. Paying $100 for a cab fare is ludicrous. Couldn't you call Carnival and inquire about airport/port transportation?

I would suggest the Carnival Shuttle service. Although, It all depends on how much time you have and what your plans are. Are you flying in just hours before embarkation? The day before? Hotel plans? They all make a difference. LAX to Long Beach is quite the trek depending on what time of the day you're going too. The 405 freeway can be a nightmare so most taxi's will take that route just to bump up the bill. The 105, during the day is pretty quick, then down the 605 is your best bet.

p.s. I lived down there for over 20 years. For a couple of years, I was a diesel mechanic. I had to travel those freeways to different locations to work on the trucks. Ya learn which freeways to take to save your sanity.

We are traveling from Omaha via Minn./St. Paul, and will land in Los Angeles @ 11:05 a.m. the ship sails @ 5:00p.m. should be plenty of time. We just purchased the tickets yesterday and will be leaving Monday, so I have to cram a lot of homework SOON. Carnival had a deal we could not pass up-$199.00 for Paradise 4 day from Long Beach.

We called to find that Carnival charges $38pp, each way for transfer service. So I guess a cab ride in rough traffic could cost $100! Good thing the cruise tickets were cheep.

I would try Primetime shuttle. they worked pretty good for us. I think it would be cheaper than Carnival's Shuttle. sounds like $76 for two people and I think primetime would be around $50 to $60 for your group
