Hi everyone. I am a single father on the Victory on June 26 with my 2 sons, 16 and 14. I know that Carnival has an activities program for kids through age 15, and I will sign the younger guy up for that.
BUT - I read in one of the brochures that there is also stuff for older teens (but not called Camp Carnival).
Anyone know what this program is called? And how do i go about getting my older son into it?
Thanks a million for the advice. I am looking forward to the trip and want to make sure the kids have plenty to do.
My girls have been older when we cruised on Carnival. They did not have a "program" per se, but they did try to get the older teens organized somewhat. My girls were some of the oldest of the group and went to some things, but didn't really enjoy hanging out with the 12-13 year olds. They started their own little group and sitting around the pool and guy watching was their most fun activity! This summer they will be old enough to go to the casino and are thrilled about the prospect of losing all their mother's quarters!!!! We'll be on the Victory in July so I won't be able to help you out much. They will find something to do and someone to hang out with. Boys seem to clump together just like the girls will, but they may not necessarily clump together! Happy sailing!
HA HA, I'm sure they'd love it! But figure they'd better go with us.....much to their chagrin probably. We decided that the only way we could get them to travel with us anymore is to take them on cruises. Hopefully, when they have their own families they will still want to do this as a family thing. Hey, but gotta get them out of college first! You guys have fun and hope these boys appreciate what their father is doing for them. Let us all know how your cruise goes!
This will be a different kind of trip for the kids. They have been bareboating in the BVI since they are very young. So, having someone else to handle the ship, cook the meals, etc, will be a treat. And.... having all that room on board will be new for them, too. Space is usually pretty tight on a sailboat. lol
