Yes, its always a good idea to purchase travel insurance. We've used CSA the past few cruises and have also made claims. There are quite a few companies to check out, just make sure you get the coverage thats right for you.

Would never cruise without it. Have never had to use it, but I like knowing that incase of an emergency I am covered. Katie

I purchased CSA (csatravelprotection.com) for our up coming trip. I found many of the companies listed on some of the sites couldn't be found through the Better Business Bureau. Couldn't find their addresses, no phone #, they had no web site, etc. I would do a BBB.com search on a company before purchasing their insurance. Insuremytrip.com is registered w/the BBB but some of the companies they list are NOT ... use the BBB.

We, too, always use CSA. They paid our claim last year with Hurricane Frances 3 weeks after filing. This time we bought CSA Webdirect, same coverage but a little cheaper. Remember, the cost is different for everyone because of variables. Depends on # of travelers, ages, cost of WHOLE trip, destination, and length of trip. We always add an extra day before and after for add insurance. Never leave home without it.

I found 2 policies I am looking at both around $65...one is with Travel Safe and one is with CSA, right now side by side the Travel Safe looks better for us.... remember we are in Orlando, so A LOT of the policy has nothing to do with us with the flights, and rentals etc.

What do ya'll think?

We've used TravelGuard twice and cruise line insurance the rest of the time. Private insurance is much, much cheaper. The people on this site said TravelGuard was a good firm too. Have a web site, address easy to guess...........very good customer service over the phone. Never had to use any insurance, hope we don't, but glad we have it.

We got it for your first cruise and didn't use it, so on our second we decided not to get it. On the 2nd night out my husband's bellybutton hernia got strangled and we didn't know what to do. He finally laid down and worked it back in. We will never go without insurance again.
