Just my opinion, since you have young children, I would choose Carnival. We have sailed Princess (without our sons) and truly loved it but it was more sophisticated and I know our boys wouldn' t have enjoyed it as much as they did on their Carnival Cruises. Carnival is more family oriented and they have a wonderful Camp Carnival for children and young teens. Again, just my opinion and experience.

I can't say anything about Princess, but Carnival has a huge amount of activities for adults and children. You can participate in as much, or as little as you like. When my kids were that age they didn't want to leave the kids at Camp Carnival. I had to insist they have dinner with our family. There will be a scheduled "Meet and Greet" in your Capers new letter which you receive every morning. It is a good idea to attend the "Meet and Greet". Your kids will feel more at ease after they meet the counselors and the other kids. We always located the Kids Club after boarding. If you board early, there will be a few hours to wander around the ship.

Enjoy your cruise!
