I've disembarked in Tampa anytime from 10:00 to noon.

I just go back from a cruise on Inspiration out of Tampa. I had 6:30 am wake up call that morning and when that came we already back at the port in Tampa. But they wouldn't let anybody off the Ship till 7:30am and that was for People who did Self assit which is carrying all off suit cases and and other belongs yourself. Which is what we did. We were out of the ship and through customs by 8am . Now if you take it where they help you off the ship you won't be off the ship till around 9am or so.

I was on the Inspiration last April and there was a delay in customs. They didn't start letting people off the ship until about 10:00 a.m. It was about 11:30 before we were off. I wouldn't book any earlier than noon.

We did self disembark on Inspiration in Jan. I think we docked around 6:00 a.m. though. We were off the ship and in our car by 8:00a.m. I agree, I wouldn't book anything earlier that noon. Don't they say don't book anything before 1:00 p.m.?

Kelly,
I will be on the same cruise!! We have flights booked out of Tampa at 4:00 p.m. - which is really late, so we will have some time to kill for sure. We're thinking about touring the Aquarium by the pier before heading to the airport. I thought about the self-disembarking where you carry off your own luggage, but I'm not sure I could manage mine down steps. We will probably just wait until they call our color to disembark and be off the ship by noon. Plenty of time to make our 4:00 flight.

Are you excited about the cruise? Have you cruised before? Do you know what deck you are on yet? Where are you flying to/from? Email me - I'd love to chat about our cruise!

Nina

Kelly:

You will love Empress Deck. That's where we were. It was so convenient. The photo gallery is there, Atrium Bar with the best cappucino, internet cafe. Dining room one floor up. We loved that deck. We entered and left ship on that deck and it made for great self-debarkation. Just stay in your room, open door and wait for self-debarkers to be called. The pursers desk told me to ignore announcement about meeting in the Paris Lounge because I would just be going up and then coming right back down. We stayed in our room and rolled right out........it was great.

Kelly,
We were in E94 and loved it. Although the announcements (which you have to open your door to hear) will say for all self-debarkers to gather with their luggage in the Paris Lounge............We had been told by the CD at the debarkation talk (a question I asked after the talk) and by the Purser's Desk right after announcement was made........to stay in our room since we were on Empress Deck because that was the deck they put the gangway on. We were just a few doors down from where the gangway comes in.....When they announced, we hit the floor rolling and right out the door. It moved fast for us, but probably slower for those who were coming down from Paris Lounge on the steps and those trying to use the elevators. The block off the glass elevator in the Atrium that morning...........If I have figured this out correctly, we were on the starboard side of the boat (If you are in front of the boat, looking straight at it, right side) and if you look at the deck plan the gangway for getting on and off the boat in Tampa is starboard side at the Atrium Plaza. When we debarked at our ports however, it was a different level...lower........

On Fantasy class ships, even cabin numbers are on the port side. And in Tampa, you enter through the port side, at least the times I've sailed from there. It's easier to pivot out and go directly down the channel that way, with the stern facing the bridge that goes to the island.

I may dwell on the land, but I live at sea!
