We made our first cruise on the Sensation on March 3rd. Except for a little rocky on the first night, the cruise was excellent. We had a great time. In fact we are getting ready to plan another cruise. My question is all about timing. Although the March 3rd cruise was sold out, it was not over run with kids. Looking for more of the 40ish crowd. Just curious about scheduling during the first week of August. Any opinions out there about whether or not this is a good time. I was originally thinking about the last week of May and was advised against it.
If you dont want so many kids August is not your month to go. Kids are still usually out of school until the end of August. My favorite month to cruise is mid to late April. I try to go after the Spring breakers are back in school. April/ May are good months to go as the Caribbean water temp. is nice and warm for snorkeling by then.
We have cruised in January, March, September, and October. All of these times had
minimal kids. When we cruised in the fall, we found more 40ish (our ages) cruisers.
If you want to avoid kids as much a possible, stay away from the summer months,
mid March to mid April, and the holidays. The first week of August may have a lot of
kids, try the week after labor day. You may want to contact a Carnival Vacation Planner
and ask which months usually have less kids and more 40ish cruisers. Good Luck.
I'm leaving on my first cruise Thursday, March 31 aboard the Sensation and my husband and I are going to celebrate our "40th" birthday! There is a group of 21 of us going and I think atleast 1/2 the group is in that age catagory. We should have met sooner you could have sailed with us!
I'm looking forward to a good time. How was the weather for you?
