My husband and I are taking the Carnival Legend out of NYC in July. We will be visiting San Juan, St. Thomas, and Tortola. We need advice about shore excursions in Tortola. Any recommendations? Thanks for the help!
I was going to ask the same question I am doing this cruise June 22, I was looking at either Cane Garden Bay or Brewers Bay, unless anyone has something better to reccommend. I just want a warm beach to go to.
Tortola in the British Virgin Islands is one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean. No glitz, very few stores and shops. Roadtown is little more than the jumping off point to beaches that will astound you. Cane Garden Bay is the most popular, but others are Brewers and Smugglers. I've mentioned three beaches, there are a dozen or so more.
A day on Cane Garden Bay includes a beautiful beach, six or seven great choices of beachside eating and drinking establishments, great swimming, nice snorkelling and killer scenery. The other beaches are a bit more "remote" with less facilities.
If you go to Virgin Gorda to do "the Baths" (a very interesting beach with giant boulders on shore and in the water). DO USE THE SHIP EXCURSION. BVI ferries are very unreliable for schedule.
No ,Tortola is not St Thomas, but I'll take it as a destination over just about any island in the Caribbean.

Hi We are leaving on the legend July 8th. We may be seeing you. I did a lot of research on the ports of call. Tortola has a wonderful island called the baths. I can testify to the good reviews about it. I was there 10 years ago and it is a sight you must see.
We were in Tortola last week. Dont stay on the ship, the beaches are beautiful, This was our second trip to Tortola. Both times we went to Cane Garden. There isnt much to do except relax and enjoy one of the most beautiful spots in the carribean. I cant wait to visit again!!
