Default long beach parking?

we are traveling from wash state. we are staying at the coast hotel the night before and they offer parking at the hotel but i thought my car might be safer at the carnival parking even though it is a little more$$. has anyone had any trouble with either? the long beach grand prix (?) is the weekend that the ship gets back so i 'm not sure which parking area would be easiest to get out of. we are on the paradise april 4-8. any advice would be great!!

Hi neighbor! (We're from Oregon). I used the Long Beach terminal parking and didn't have any problems. After living in So Cal for 20 years, I would question the security at the hotels in that area. It also may be quicker for you to get to your car and get back on the road. Hotel shuttles may be jammed with the GrandPrix crowd thus leaving you standing for a while (maybe).

Boy, you have a long drive ahead of you! What is that, about 18 hours one way?

Cavy, several people from Cruisemates have used the parking package at the Coast and we've never heard of a problem.

Having stayed there myself, the hotel has a good deal of separation from everything around it, and the parking is nearly all at the front of the hotel. I would have no qualms about it - and you get to save the parking money.

Harry

hello happy cruiser! yes it is a long drive but we have done it before. we are actually leaving this wednesday night and have a stop at a friends house for a few days in sacramento so it won't be a straight shot. we have done the straight through before and it takes about 22 hours with potty breaks and meals. we usually did the drive to save the airfare money. it was always around $800.00 to fly and $200.00 to drive but now with the gas prices its not that big of a difference!

You're right. With gas prices going up, it's almost just as cheap to fly. We're flying this time as we're sailing out of New Orleans. We'll probably do a Hawaii or Mexican Riviera cruise next time around. It's only a 12 hour drive for us to Long Beach.

. . . . Drive careful and have a fantastic cruise!!! When you hit exit 30, wave!
