Am writing tonight to see if anyone out there can help us.
Last year when sailing on Sensation, the cruise featured a horse race. I believe that people purchased a wooden horse, decorated it and carried it around all week. From that we are not sure what happened.
Can anyone fill in the blanks for us???????? How do you purchase the horse and for how much? How does the race work?
We are sailing again in 3 weeks (this year Celebration) and have a group of 16. Thought maybe it would be fun.
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you and enjoy the holiday.
Celebration - 4/18/05 (22 days but who is counting)
Sensation - 4/04
Buying a horse is an auction process following the initial race. Like a lot of auctions, the price goes up on later items. Expect a horse to cost approximately $20-40. The winning horse's owner gets part of the proceeds from the "owners race" late in the cruise.
The horses are moved via two dice in a wire cage. Like the ones you find in the casino. One of the dice specifies which horse is moving....while the other specifies how many spaces the horse moves down the track. Since the horses move either one/two spaces at a time, probably all even numbers equal "2"....all odd numbers "1"
