Im gonna be on my honeymoon when we go on our cruise in november. My husband will be 21 but I will be 20. Where Im from, TX, if your married to someone 21 and your not then they can buy you alcohol. Carnival says that they will not allow me to drink even in international waters and it doesnt matter about my marital status. All the other cruise lines I have talked to and heard about have said that in International waters the drinking age is 18. Not that I want to really drink, but a glass of wine with dinner isnt gonna kill anyone, and if Im married I should be allowed to drink.
Also, my future mother in law and father in law just got back from a cruise and the head guy on board even told them that in international waters the age is 18 to drink and gamble, when you are in port is when you have to be 21.
Carnival posts (at least on the Glory) a sign at each bar that says the legal drinking age is 21. Does not matter if in international waters or not. Interestingly the casino is open to those 18 and older. Great to be married so young and have the $ for a cruise.
"Alcoholic beverages will not be sold or served to anyone under the age of 21."
"Passengers must be 21 years of age or older to purchase or drink alcohol or gamble onboard all Princess ships at all times."
"Royal Caribbean International will not serve alcoholic beerages while a vessel is at sea to guests under 21 years of age. The parent or legal guardian of a guest who is from 18-20 years of age may sign a waiver permitting such guest be served beer or wine while in international waters. In US ports, the iminimum drinking age is 21."
Celebrity - same policy as RCL (surprise).
If you're married you should be allowed to drink? Gosh I hope not for all the 15 and 16 year olds who marry young!
Bottom line - I think most cruiselines require you to be 21. I'm sure you'll be able to drink by your dh buying you drinks, however.

Dorothy has posted the rules of CCL. Let me make it as simple as I can. The drinking age is 21 and it matters not where you are at on the ship. Your S&S card is coded with your age and you cannot buy drinks on that card onboard the ship or anywhere that card is used. Marriage does not matter. Being in the Military does not matter. The fact that I think it should does not matter. <VBG>
Now the practical facts are this, In most ports you can drink under 21 so no problem, onboard ship and especially in the dining room your husband can buy the wine and nobody is going to say a word about your age. In the disco I seriously doubt they will say anything if you look close to being 21 and your husband puts the charges on his card. You have a ring on your finger that matches the one on your husbands so they understand and won't normally enforce it unless you become a problem and I assume that this is not going to happen. Enjoy your marriage and honeymoon and congratulations. Have a wonderful time on your cruise and enjoy and take many photos for your memories.
