Sounds great! Where are you coming from? I live in Hilton Head, SC. My relatives organized a family reunion cruise so this should be fun! By the way, it looks like we may have a great view of the Space Shuttle launch that day!
we are from west virginia and kentucky. the space shuttle launch sounds cool. we were there i beleive two years ago on the beach watching for the launch and they scratched it. maybe it will be better this time
No, I have been on several. Last one was in March on the Caribbean Princess (7 Day - Eastern Carib.). This will be my second Carnival cruise, however. First one was back in October of 2002 on the Carnival Paradise (10 day Southern Carib.).
Where are you from, Nicki? I live in Hilton Head, SC.
I'm from Michigan. We live about 40 minutes outside Detroit, in Romulus. This will be my second Carnival too. The first one was way back in 1991 after I graduated high school. My mom took me and my sisters on a 3 day. It was so much fun! I had just turned 18 and was able to drink and gamble on the ship. I thought I was so cool!
So, how many people do you have going in your group? I would love to have a family reunion on a cruise ship! Our family keeps talking about going during Christmas or New Year's one year. That's way far off though.
Yes, we live about 10 minutes or so from the airport. Sort of know where Armada is. We actually live on the Romulus border. I'm going to take it that you're a pilot? My sister is a flight attendant. If so, what airline?
I have my Commercial License with an Instrument Rating, but I only fly as a hobby....not enough flight time to fly for the airlines. I work as a Flight Dispatcher for Netjets, a worldwide coporate air carrier. Who does she fly for?
She flies for Mesaba, a division of Northwest. Ever heard of them? Based mainly on the east coast. Her and her boyfriend (whose a pilot ) just got back from a Norwegian cruise in March, and got to fly for practically nothing.
Yes, I have heard of Mesaba and am actually flying them out of Detroit to Flint next month. Our pilots and F/As get to keep there frequent flyer and hotel points so when they go on vacation, they go for free. We just had a pilot send his wife and kids over to Asia for 3 weeks for free.
What do you do for a living, if you don't mind me asking?
Not in Freeport, but we're going to Blue Lagoon in Nassau. I've been there twice already, so I've seen all the shops. I figured the kids would LOVE the beach. So, we decided that would be our best option.
How about you? Any family excursions? Is yours a three day or four day? I'm getting so excited! Can't wait for our trip!
We are on the 4 day, Nicki. Not sure what the rest of the family is doing just yet, but I am planning of the fishing excursion in Freeport. I might just grab the water taxi to Paradise Island and play some slots at the Atlantis Hotel and Casino. Won't be long for you now! I'm sure you are excited after last weekend's snowfall. :P
I'll be on the fantasy on May 15th with my redneck buddy Tom. I have taken this cruise once before but back then the ship was the Carnivale and sailed out of Miami. That was around 1987 or 88 when i was a sophomore in HS going on spring break with my family. Loved it then so figure it will be an even bigger blast with a ship 3 times the size. I am hoping that this cruise will be a good party for two single guys looking to have fun and make fools of ourselves to get laughs. Hope to see everyone in a few weeks. Btw I talked to one of the carnival people last night and it seems this cruise is virtually about sold out.
Gary from Ohio
I have to admit, I'm feeling a little jealous! I don't think anyone else is going the same time as us. We'll probably be the only ones on the ship! Well, at least you guys can all look out for one another. Wish I knew someone that was going on our cruise too!!
