We're going on the Miracle over Thanksgiving week this year and recently spoke with some previous Miracle passengers that have said that thay felt a lot of rocking motion on this ship. They are frequent Carnival cruisers and have been on several other ships and said that they felt a lot more movement on the Miracle than on any of the other ships. Has anybody else experienced this?
We were on the Miracle last summer on an Eastern Canadian trip out of New York. I was actually expecting there to be some motion because we were in the Atlantic Ocean rather than the mild Caribbean. However, we really didn't feel much at all. I would say that the Miracle had a small amount of movement, but no more than I've experienced on any other ship.
We traveled on the Carnival Pride, which is a sister ship to the miracle. We felt more motion than we did on any of our other carnival ships. This may be because the seas were rough, and it was very windy. But also, its carnival's longest ship (963 ft.) but it still skinny enough to fit through the panama canal (106 ft wide). We figured since its so long, but skinny, that may have had something to do with the stability???? Just a thought.
We also sailed on the Pride and only had real noticable motion one day. The captain said we had 12 ft. seas that day so I would think any ship would have had motion. Otherwise, I can't say that I noticed any more that on previous cruises.
Sailed on the Pride last year which is the sister ship to the Miracle. Both my wife and I agreed that we did feel more motion on this ship, but as one of the previous folks mentioned, its longer than the Destiny and Conquest class and narrower. It also travels a lot faster. We felt most of the motion at night during the late seating dinner. You could tell the ship was moving along at a good clip. Despie this the ship was awsome so I'm sure you'll love the Miracle. If you have been on any of the other Carnival ships I think you'll like this class of ship the best even though its not as big.

Ohh yeah, dont get me wrong, we LOVED the pride. Awesome service, food, decor, etc. The pool deck was AWESOME!! Wouldnt hesitate booking another cruise on her. We loved the spirit class cruise expierence. Great ships, regardless of the rocking.
I too sailed the Miracle in the Atlantic, as well as the Pride and the Legend.
I would say all three were the smoothest sailings I have ever had.
But the only time I have felt movement was never on a Carnival ship. It was on the NCL Seaward. It just seemed top heavy.

I sailed on the Miracle and it was windy outside. Consequentially, I felt rolling and it put me to sleep at night. I was in the Gulf of Mexico. Twice while aboard the Fantasy I sailed through the Devil's Triangle. I felt much more movement.
