Im petite and get cold easy can I get some extra blankets from my cabin steward? Also is there a temerature control in Carnival cabins? How cold is the ship? I've heard the dining rooms can be chilly? Are they as Arctic as the Vegas casinos?
There is always an extra blanket in the closet but I have never used it. Yes, each cabin has it's own control so you can regulate the temperature. I have never noticed it cold in the dining room with all those bodies in there but it can get chilly in the theater so I bring a wrap or a light sweater with me just in case.

Yes it can get a bit chilly in the common areas such as dining room and show lounge and out on deck since it is windy. I always bring some extra light sweaters to put on and always end up using them. As for the room, you can control the temperature and an added tip is that there is a ac vent in the ceiling over your beds which has a lever which you can close to stop the cold air from coming in which will warm your room up. Even though the celings aren't high I am 5'2" and have to stand on the bed or chair to reach the lever. Your room steward can bring you whatever your little heart desires...they are at your beck and call. Extra blankets and pillows are a must with my family and we always ask for extra....just remember he/she will be available in the morning and the evening when they are cleaning rooms. If you don't see them in the hallway in the area of your room, just have them paged. They take a break in the mid afternoon after their morning clean up, so I don't bother them when they are off duty, so to speak. If I need extra ice in my bucket after coming back from a shore excursion I go to the ice room usually located on each deck and get my own so I don't bother them. Hope that helps! Have fun
On both Carnival ships I've been on, you *couldn't* control the actual temperature in your room, only the rate at which the air flowed out.
I am always cold and nearly froze to death on my first cruise - especially in the dining room and the show lounge. Bring sweaters!

Thankyou everyone Im leaving to cruise on Monday so I needed these post answered asap and they were. I am also 5ft 2 Cheryl, and Dorothy you sound like me, to top it all off I cought a nasty little upper resperatory infection so now Im really affected by the cold air, and more cabin mate will have to deal with my coughing so Im taking every herb and vitamin known to man to try to clear it up quickly. Typical Chicago thing cause one day it's cold next it's hot and we all get sick.
Im sure you would agree the weather in Midwest stinks, although we sure do get a change of seasons, sometimes from one day or hour to the next I can't wait to lay in the sunshine. Hope all you people get out of the cold soon!
