OKAY... Ive got to tell you this!!! I was on the Holiday a year ago and the black jack dealer and the one who ran the blackjack tournament was AWESOME!!!!!!! I forget his name but he is from South Africa. A REALLY GREAT GUY!!!
sure it's fun!
the three Carnival ships I've been on had BJ tournaments, Fun 21, face up 21, the wheel of madness and regular BJ with $5 min. They won't throw you out if they think you are counting cards either.
I've always enjoyed blackjack on the ships. Two cruises ago I was lucky enough to win a little money and took it immediately to the Purser's desk and applied it on my Sail & Sign.
Last October on the Elation I entered the blackjack tournament. Several of us were doing fairly well and bet it all on the last hand hoping to score big. The dealer got a blackjack and wiped out the whole table!
BlackJack is fun on the ships, especially because they have $5 mins (also some $10 & $25). If you are a regular player, be warned that a lot of new players will be at the cheap tables. Some want to learn and will take advise, others just play by whatever whim they feel. The tournaments are fun - though my last cruise I was the 2nd or 3rd person out in the first round, so frustrating, but still had fun.
Our son lost $800 the first night and $500 each night there after. My husband and I figure if we really want play we could just stick the money in an envelope slide it under the door when it's closed and head over to the buffet. Same end results and at least it wasn't as stressful and we will enjoy it.
I figure if you want to gamble head over to Vegas or Laughlin. Your changes are wining our much better
