Default Miami Hotels ??

I am flying my parents in the day prior to cruise leaving and am looking for a good hotel to set them up in, that would be easy to get to from airport, then to port the next day. Doesn't have to be extravegant by any means, but something nice and clean, maybe a pool. What does taxi usually cost in Miami area?
Thanks ahead for info!
T.

I just booked Holida Inn Port of Miami for 84.00. I did alot of browsing on these boards as well as others and the general consesces was this is a good place. About a mile from the cruiseport and across from the Bayside Marketplace. If you parents are over 62 they can get a senior discount on top of the 84,00rate . Hope this helps

we are going in with 11 people this summer the day before cruise and we have booked rooms at the hampton inn downtown and it is about two miles from the port. they serve a nice continental breakfast buffet in the morning, free of charge. i called to even see what was on the menu and it was good. there is a pool and the reviews i got were good.
we are paying $105.00 but that includes breakfast and hampton inns we are used to.
i did not get good reviews for the clarion downtown, many bad reviews. the days inn also had bad reviews. we wanted to stay at the holiday inn marina across from the port and the bayside market place but they had no rooms on the date we needed. hope you find what you want.
