Default Bookings and cabins - just wondering

Do the majority of people book specific cabins or do the majority book the "guarantee" way????

Just wondering. I usually book "guarantee", because the cabin location really makes no difference to me. I wonder how others feel?

I usually book a guarantee. It doesn't matter where my cabin is, one extra minute on the stairs, or in an elevator and I'm where I need to be anyway.

We book a specific cabin. I like to sleep at night so location is important.

If the kids are going we book specific cabins as we need to be next to each other. If its just DH and myself we book a guaranty.

we are going as a family group, 11 of us so we book specific cabins, one because we wanted to be together, and two because we wanted the cabins in the center of the ship, on a certain deck. also we wanted a balcony cabin with inside cabins across the hall and that arrangement of cabins is on only on certain decks. plus i am a worrier and need to know i have a cabin no. assigned to me.

We had to book specific cabins because we need to be across the hall from our kids. We have an extended balcony with the kids in an inside across the hall.

We always book specific cabins. We travel with other family members who usually do outside cabins and don't care where they are, but we like a specific location always in a balcony cabin on a certain deck towards the middle/front. I wouldn't like to wait until the last second to find out where my cabin is, and God forbid if it is at the back under the galley or with the engines rumbling below us.

We book a specific cabin because we like being near the middle of the ship and more importantly, on a deck with passenger decks below and above us. As CherylR said, we don't want to take the chance of being anywhere near the galley!

I booked a gty ocean view cabin and was assigned a cabin all the way in the back of the ship on the Upper deck. I wasn't too thrilled because I could really feel the ship's movement. As the ship was letting down its anchor on our return trip to Miami, the shaking was so horrendous it felt like an 7 point earthquake.

Would I book a gty cabin again, I think I would, but I would also like to choose my own cabin. I like the Riviera deck, midhsip.

I did a GTY on my only cruise so far and ended up on the Upper Deck Mid Ship.

My TA told me that if I booked the Double Upgrade sale Carnival has, I would get the same thing this time.

Our family always book specific staterooms (deck & location), it isn't that much more money to book a specific room.....we were stuck near the galley on the Imagination and the noise kept us up all night.

The cabin we usually get has to have a balcony, so i can sit and drink my coffee and watch the sun come up and the moon come out. Yuo can usually hear some interesting conversations around. As far and the shaking makes me sleep like a baby in a cradle. Our 5th cruise is in june out of norfolk, and this time we splurged and got a suite. Bob

Booked gty. on our first 2 cruises, but have begun to figure out what we really like, so this time booked a specific cabin. I knew I wanted an extended balcony aft. Paid a bit more and don't get that thrilling moment when you find out your cabin, but I know we'll love the aft balcony.
