Has anyone ever been in stateroom R1? It looks like it is at the very front of the boat, the very first stateroom on the Holiday. Is this a good or a bad thing? Kind of scares me, or makes me think it may be a rough ride being in the very front of the boat? Any comments, suggestions, concerns? This is our honeymoon and my husband to be's first cruise, only my 2nd!
I was just on the Holiday last month. Great older ship and we had an excellent time. I have stayed in the first room at the very front on Fantasy and we had no problems at all. That was my first cruise and I thought I would end up very sick. Not at all. I wouldn't even worry about it. The Holiday is pretty smooth sailing...gets a little bumpy here and there, but nothing to complain about.
Enjoy yourself. We loved the fact that we continued to see the same people that we met when departing throughout the cruise. I actually prefer the smaller ships over the larger. Go see Dave at the Piano bar. He's wonderful!
If you have any other questions about the ship, feel free to ask!
Just remembered and have one warning for you with being at the front of the boat. You will hear the anchors and will be awoken when the ship docks. Our cabin was M1 on Fantasy, one deck higher and that was the one downfall of the stateroom. If your a hard sleeper, than you have nothing to worry about!
