Default Tulum tour - jewelry stop?

We have the Tulum tour booked for our stop in Cozumel. We went on the same tour in 2002 but have friends coming who would like to go.

I understand that they make you stop at a jewelry store/factory. How long do you stay there? Is there a restaurant or any facilities there if you don't want to go in the store? We are kind of ticked off about having our time wasted here that could be spent at the ruins.

Cheers,
Michelle P.

It must be new Michelle as I have not heard of it, just the tourist trap halfway there for a toilet break and junk. I would do any jewelry in Playa if you have the time. On Cozumel itself go to the stores that are back farther from the oceanfront for the better bargains.
