I am wondering if Carnival and/or any other cruiseline offers discounts to veterans and/or current military. I have a relative (non computer user) who would like to go on a cruise and was wondering if this is something cruiselines offer, Carnival in particular.

I know our friend in the Navy was able to get a special military discount when he cruised on Carnival a year ago... I don't remember how much the discount was but it was definitely worth getting. Have your friend call 1-800-CARNIVAL to ask when he's ready to book.
Carnival now offers military discount to anyone who has ever served. All you need is a DD 214 statement of service to fax them. If the person is still in or retired they send a copy of the identification card. There are only so many cabins alloted for this discount and it's usually not available during spring break. It's also not available for the Cat 11 and 12's.
YES they do. I got an email last week advertising some great disocunts for military folks. since the spouse and I are both retired Navy, we looked into the prices and found them to be substantial savings.
Contact Carnival directly and ask the Personal Vacation Planner who answers the phone. Tell him/her that the traveler is (retired/active duty/reserve/whatever) and see what happens.
For the record, the offerings on my email were for a limited time.
My hubby and I have gone on one cruise and will sail in four days, and both we got a discount. I've never heard anything about their only being certain rooms and certain cruises and so on. Last year we booked with a travel agent on base. This time I did it my self and had no problems. Yes, it is a great savings of hundreds of dollars. It is well worth talking to a vacation planner.
YES..... $200 savings off of a Super Saver rate.... We are sailing on the Conquset (7 days) on Oct 30th....$829.84 for the wife & me & this INCLUDES Port Charges & Federal Taxes ($71.84 for 2)..... Booked through my Carnival rep.... You do need to prove 2 years active duty with your DD-214 (fax to Carnival)...... Not a bad price for a 7 day cruise..!!! ... Bob & Kathy
Do any of the online travel agencies offer this discount? I remember a couple years back that most airlines and cruise lines were offering discounts to immediate family memebers of the military. My son is going to be in Iraq (again) when we cruise this time. Although he can't go with us, any chance we could still get a discount?
p.s. Not trying to screw anybody. If it's not available, then it's not available. Ya can't blame a girl for trying!

Happy cruiser you qualify because you're the mother, the other person in your cabin also gets the discount. You can only book ONE cabin if he's not going. You will need a copy of his ID and DL.
