Just read on Cruise-Critic that the Liberty is going to dock in Miami instead of Ft Lauderdale on November 9th. Is this true? We've booked a 12pm flight out of Ft Lauderdale. Hope this is just a rumor and not a fact.

Mariel..

I checked the itinerary again on the Carnival website and it's still listing Ft. Lauderdale. I will ask the TA to check it... but if it were being changed I do think it would be posted.

Plus other sailings after she lands are still being sold as leaving from Ft. Laud.

hiya again.......

is there a running list of all who are booked on the cruisemates gang?
will we get a list sometime of who is in the group? & cabin #'s

do any of you have ideas of dinner seatings? or Kuki will the TA try to seat our group together?

so far we have 3 at our table for late seating...... this is the 1st cruise that I had no idea who I'd be sitting with!! (it was always planned head of people we know, this trip we know no one ahead of time)
are the plans still on for a private cocktail gathering for our group? will we have a newsletter of sorts to keep us informed? are there any other activites planned for the group?

who is getting dressed for halloween?
(I am wishy washy on this,, I LOVE halloween, but not sure of the luggage.*sigh*)

Hey Muffyn..

Those booked in our group WILL be seated together at dinner with others choosing the same dining time (unless they request otherwise).

Once onboard we'll give everyone a "directory" with everyone's name and cabin # (except those who chose not to have the information made public, if there is anyone). As well, we'll send a newsletter to everyone's cabin with times, dates, and places for all the activities we have planned.

Of course, we'll be having our group cocktail party... and some other "social mixers" as well. Here's a list of some of the things we have planned.

1. Our CruiseMates meet and greet get together
2. Halloween party - costume prizes - theme "Roman the Seas" - my advice ---> don't bother packing a costume. Just pick up some odds and ends in ports of call, and have some fun creating something.
If nothing else, a bed sheet makes an excellent toga! :-)
3. Kuki's "special" treasure hunt. Participants will be given a hint sheet describing what items they need to retreive, and where they can be found. Each item you'll need to solve the puzzle first as to what the item is, and where you might find it. Then you'll go retreive it.
4. Pool volleyball - We won't be athletes, but we will have fun.
5. MINOR gift exchange - We'd like everyone to bring an item from home, that their home area is well known for (UNDER $10 value). Whether it's a bottle of wine, or maple syrup, a type of candy, or ...... bring it along, and we'll have a little contest to determine who get's to choose who's "gift".
6. Team Trivia - each night, on sea days, your dinner table will receive a question that you can determine/research the answer to as a group. Eventually answers will be turned in, and the team with the most points will win "wonderful" <G> prizes

In August we're going to set up some private "Liberty" live online chats in our Chat Room, so people who want to can "meet" the other cruisemates beforehand. Hope you'll attend.

Though people haven't been that "chatty" on the message boards, from experience with our group cruises I can assure you that once we're onboard FUN will be the operative word!
I know a number of the people booked from previous group cruises, and it's a great and friendly bunch... so no worries about feeling "out in the cold". And with all the activities we'll be planning I'm sure you'll make some great new friends.

The CD John Heald is a good friend to CruiseMates, so once onboard we'll also try and set up a "special event" with John and Heidi.

Only a few months left to wait!!

Does everyone mean each individual or each couple. And if each individual should it be marked Male or Female?

Now I know that there are more than 7 couples going on this cruise, but only 7 pictures. If you are going, why not send a picture to Kuki and he will post it in the gallery. That way we will all get to see who we're cruising with.

Only 73 days till we leave for Rome and the cruise, how about you, what day does your vacation start?

Actually, I don't think there is a picture of us anywhere on the internet. If there were, I wouldn't know how to send it in an E-mail.

Besides, it is going to be bad enough when you meet us. Why frighten you in advance.

Hello!
I'm so excited about this cruise. I went shopping today and found good sales. Has anyone decided on what tour they plan to take in each port?

Starting to work on that now Diva. The excitement is mounting, only 64 more sleeps till we leave for Rome If there is enough interest, pretty soon Kuki will be setting up a private chat for us all to meet and talk about the tours and all our plans.

Have you sent Kuki a picture to post in the gallery yet?

AW good to hear that you are joining us. It's getting closer now, under 60 days so I think we are all getting a bit excited.

Clyde and Mary Jo welcome aboard. I'm jealous, you'll be onboard and we'll still be home here in Florida dreaming about the ship. Take good care of her for us.

If you have pictures and would like to have them added to the gallery, send them to Kuki@cruisemates.com and he will post them for you.

Once you open the thread, press the END button on your keyboard... and then just scroll up a bit to those you havent read.

The other option is to click on "THREADED VIEW" under the post. That will list the posts in a "thread" and you can see the date and time of the last posts.

Also... welcome to all the "newbie" posters to this thread. I've been out of town in Arizona, but back home now... and I'll start cranking up and getting some chats and group e mails organized in the coming weeks.

If you want to be included just drop me a note at Kuki@cruisemates.com.

Hi Clyde and Mary Jo,

I saw your message on the cruisemates site. I'm also on the Carnival Liberty Transatlantic sailing and my name is also Mary Jo. It's actually Mary Josephine on my birth certificate but I only got called that when I was in trouble!

I live in Texas and am traveling with a friend although we aren't sharing a cabin. We're going to Rome a couple days early and plan to make a day trip to Florence before boarding the ship.

Lucky you, do the back-to-back!

Default Carnival Liberty Transatlantic "enrichment" info

In a previous "career," I helped organize the on-board enrichment program for Royal Olympic Cruise Line (now bankrupt). One of my jobs was to develop "enrichment" books, containing information about the history and culture of the ports.

I have created such a document for the Liberty Transatlantic cruise with info about Rome, Civitavecchia, Florence (which my friend and I plan to visit), Barcelona, Majorca, Malaga, Granada (I've signed up for that shorex), Madeira and Sint Maarten. I also included stuff about the Strait(s) of Gibaltar, the Atlantic Ocean and Unesco World Heritage Sites that are on the itinerary.

I am putting this information together in spiral bound books for myself and my friend. If anyone is interested in this information, I have put a sample (the table of contents and the first part of Italy/Rome) in the files section of the following yahoo group:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/clta2005

(clta stands for carnival liberty transatlantic!)

The actual information is illustrated with graphics and appropriate quotations and includes a "cruise log."

If anyone would like a copy of the information, please let me know. I would only charge for copying and binding the booklet and postage to send it to you. I will create a personalized cover with "Prepared Especially for <your name(s)> if you want.

Anyway, I'm happy to share the research that I did so let me know if you're interested.

Hi everyone ( new and old)

I've been down in Arizona visiting family for a few days. It was HOT, but had a great time visiting everyone, and got in some golf.

Planning a chat for next Sunday, 9 PM EDT in our chat. Here's a link
http://www.cruisemates.com/articles/chat/Chatpage.cfm

Hope everyone comes by to say hello!

I sent out a "group" e mail. If I inadvertantly didn't include you, please send a note and I'll make sure I include you next time.
