Hi Melody...
Glad you found your way back with the new format!

Paige... I received the name tags you made. THANKS, they are really nice

Nancy tells me that all the group docs have gone out (I haven't got mine yet), and that she is working with Carnival to make sure all our dining arrangements are settled, and doing her best to see to it our timing requests are granted.

Default Have you got your docs yet?

We haven't got our docs yet, but hope to get them this week.

My booking still shows main seating, so guess Nancy isn't having any luck getting us main second seating, (6:15). I'll keep checking.

Have a great day!!!!

Default Dining times

If you did not get the dining time you wanted, just go to the place where the Maitre'd is supposed to be available to switch them and find someone that has the opposite of what you have and is there trying to switch, and present yourselves that way, as a solution, and then...how can they say no? This has worked for me in the past

Guys I am so excited!

Kuki I am glad you liked the tags!

Kuki can we non-'Mates go to the red white and blue party? Just checking. I know we are not all part of the "official" official group and don't want to infringe on any official Cruisemates group activities.

WOO HOO One month away!

Paige.. everyone is welcome at ALL or any of our CruiseMates group activites (the lone exception being the complimentary cocktail party supplied by our TA). And even then I'm hoping I can convince John and Carnival that they should host one for the combined groups

We always prefer to be inclusive, rather than exclusive. Makes these trips way more fun

Before we leave we'll try and make sure everyone has at least an initial list of early plans, and then from there try and keep everyone apprised of when and what activities are scheduled later.

The "biggies" so far will be the Halloween party and the "gift exchange", but with all the sea days, we'll have lots of other plans falling into place.

Looks like I have one suitcase that'll just be full of prizes... that'll give Mrs Kuki something to fill for the trip home [/b]

Paige,

Funny thing is that we used to have the 6:15 dining time, but when we asked to be seated with the CruiseMates group, we got switched to 5:45, even though most of them had requested 6:15. It's really no big deal, but you'd think Carnival would be more accommodating, when it's a group. We'll just have more casino time after dinner. Kuki said he'd show me how to win at Black Jack.

Good Morning Lots of Time, Little Money and Liberty Lovers cruisers

Just have to do this.

ONLY 27 MORE SLEEPS FOR ME TILL I LEAVE HOME FOR ROME

How Great is that? You could say I'm a little excited.

Still trying to figure out what gift to bring. Oranges? Palm Trees? They frown on transporting fruits and plants. Paige you're right, maybe a flashlight. )

Deciding what to bring from North Carolina is no piece of cake either--Sand, tar, pine trees???? I'm sure I'll figure out something. If anyone out there has always wanted something from here, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Tweety, we'll be Glad to see you go cause then it's only two more days for us:

We're excited too, have my packing list ready, laid all the clothes out on the bed in the extra room, opened the suitcases and am starting the ironing process. Need to get everything done before 3 Oct when I start to work. Directory is finished too and ready for print closer to leaving so if there are any cabin changes or if you haven't emailed the information to me, now would be a good time.

Won't be as long as it has been

My docs have still not made their way across the border, but this is kind of typical of our slow dog sleds.

I was scheduled to go to Vegas next week for a wedding, but I've had to cancel. Unfortunately my mother is back in the hospital, and it appears they're going to keep her for awhile. The specialist they've called in can't even see her until Tues.

Hoping they'll get her fixed up, and feeling better, and at home quickly. Keeping my finger crossed that she gets better fast, and we don't have to bow out of the cruise.

Kuki there will be no bowing out of the cruise. With all the prayers our Cruisemates will say for your Mom's quick recovery you're almost gonna be sorry you cancelled Vegas.

Give Mom a hug for us as soon as you ditch that miserable cold you have and can go see her.

Kuki,

We too will add your Mom to our prayer list. Here's hoping for a very speedy recovery. It's tough to have an ailing mother, been there, done that and sympathize with you. I pray all goes well and that you will not have to postpone your plans. Take care,

Linda

Default Kuki, and party reminders

Kuki, I hope things are getting better with your Mom today. She remains in our prayers. We are all really looking forward to meeting you, you are our fearless leader. Hope things look up for you soon.

Just a reminder that I will be giving outnametags to those who did not get them thru the mail from around 2:30 - 3 at the lido deck bar on embarkation day-Monday.

Also...

Our meet-n-greet get together is next day, Tuesday at Promenade bar at 2:00 pm. From the pics of other ppls cruises on Liberty on Webshots it looks like there is plenty of seating at and around that bar.

Thanks everyone for their kind thoughts!

The story has taken a bit of a twist. Thurs they transferred my mother to a different hospital, that has a specific pacemaker clinic. Friday tests were run and it was decided she needed a new pacemaker.
The ones the Drs. want to use is not approved in Canada yet, but there is a process they can go through to get it approved to use on her as "research".

This process, and getting the pacemaker in, will take anywhere from 1-3 weeks, so they have sent her home until they can get it set up and bring it in. Kind of WEIRD

Hoping that she will stay stable, and they get this thing approved and in and working ASAP!!!

Gosh Kuki,

I sure wish for her (and your) sake the decision could be made faster. Regardless, we will keep her in our prayers (and you too). Take this as a good sign and let's hope and pray it will be approved and that she will do splendidly.

Kuki,

Glad you can do the full Monty. I am only up to about half a Monty. We got our documents last week but without the luggage tags. I called Nancy and the tags arrived here from Carnival today. Nancy said several people had not gotten their tags.

Best wishes from us to your mother. We have an idea what things are like. Peggy's mother is in a nursing home in Natchez, Mississippi. We plan to be there next week for her 99th birthday., balloons, cake and all. We plan to visit any casinos that still exist in Lake charles, La on our way

Default Kuki, Luggage info from jet blue

Kuki any news on your Mom's treatment? I hope you hear soon and its all a-go. In the meantime you know we are praying for her comfort and health for you not to worry too much.
So glad you got to do your doc dance full monty style! I had to hound the Travel Agent up in Ohio where Tommy lives but they said they came today so once Tommy has them in his hot little hands the two of us will do the doc dance. I dont want to be there if he does the full Monty! We're just friends!!! I love the break-dancing porcupine!

I just got the following email from Jet Blue-I saw the subject of the email "Luggage changes" and my heart sank, but all is well, I have 70 lbs x 2 if necessary. In case any of you are using Jet Blue to get to your Euro-flight, here is some info.

Dear JetBlue Traveler,
Thank you for booking your flight with JetBlue Airways; we look forward to welcoming you onboard. We are confident you will enjoy our friendly crewmembers, leather seats, and new aircraft. It is our goal that all customers enjoy every aspect of their JetBlue flight.

To ensure a positive JetBlue experience, we want to inform you of our new guidelines for traveling with baggage. Beginning October 1, 2005, each customer will be limited to two checked bags with the weight of each piece not to exceed 70 pounds and 62 inches in overall length, width and height. JetBlue may accept overweight or oversized bags for an additional charge on domestic flights.

Remember, you may bring one bag that fits in the overhead bin plus one personal item (purse, briefcase, laptop, etc.) that fits under the seat in front of you, per customer. If you have a medical assistance item, it will not count as a carry-on.

Your personal item must not exceed 18"l x 15"w x 8"h in order to fit under the seat in front of you. To fit in the overhead bin, your item must not exceed 24"l x 16"w x 10"h.

If you have any questions please call us at 1-800-JETBLUE and we will be happy to assist you. Thank you for choosing JetBlue and enjoy your flight.

Sincerely,

Jason Ward

JetBlue is certainly generous with their baggage allowance. Unfortunately, we're flying on AirTran from Ft Lauderdale and their allowance is 50#. We're flying to Rome on American, so we could have 70# going over, but we'd have to lose some weight after we reached Miami. I guess I could throw away some clothes.

I was wondering is anyone who was assigned the main dinner seating (5:45) has been changed to main late seating (6:15)? Our booking still shows main seating. Evidently Nancy hasn't been able to get it changed.

Mariel.. at the moment everyone with the group, who had requested one of the earlier seatings is at 5:45. The group is "waitlisted" for the 6:15... and we really won't know more until the Maitre D sits down to actually assign tables. With Carnival that's generally just the week prior to the cruise.

On all the sea days I don't think the 5:45 would matter much. On longer port days I guess those who want could make later reservations in the supper club, or go casual for dinner on the Lido deck... if we do all end up with the 5:45.

Hello everyone,
Larry and I leave tomorrow for Florida and Friday to Rome. We have a land tour before the cruise. Hope everyone has a safe trip over and Kuki I hope the pacemaker is fully successful for your Mom.
We have been assigned the 6:15 dinner...wonder if any of you will be with us??? Looking forward to seeing and meeting the gang.
