Will be on the Sensation in June. Does anyone know exactly where the Vol Fire Dept is in Playa Del Carmen? Heard it was on hwy 307 right near the town, but is it within walking distance from downtown? Husband would like to visit and exchange patches. Thanks!
When we were there, the cab driver drove so fast from Calica, where the ship docks, to Playa Del Carmen, dont remember seeing much....except for the little boy and man the cab driver almost ran over! The cab rides in Mexico are an experience all in themselves....
It is at least a mile or so from the dock area. That is the main road and actually located on the far west side of the city. I would not recommend the walk. Just grab a taxi and tell them where you wish to go. They aren't really all that bad in that part of Mexico. <VBG>
