Default 8a verses 8d

Help...I'm looking into booking a cruise with Carnival Spirit (8night to Mexico, which I hear is great.) I'm wondering if anyone has 1st hand info on if the lifeboats are in the way when you are looking out over your balcony from a 8a cabin ( 4179 main floor for example) We have cruised on a catagory 8d before (6245 empress floor Carnival Pride) with no view being obstructed. Any info would be helpful. Have a great cruise all!!

Carnival Holiday
Carnival Elation
Carnival Elation
Carnival Ecstasy
Carnival Pride
Princess Sapphire
Carnival Spirit
Golden Princess
Carnival Splendor (3 days of towing back to port)

Carnival Dream

Have a great cruise all!! 8)

We are booked on the Spirit in December. We have cabin 4181 right next door to 4179. According to the deck maps and the Carnival agent it does not overlook the life boats. Looks to be a good spot. Of course we are hoping for that chance in a million to be upgraded to a suite. In all our 8 cruises we have never been upgraded.
Have fun!!!

4179 is not obstucted at all. No 8A cabins are obstructed. The obstructed balconies on Spirit class ships are designated as 7A. Now, some people might consider the extended balconies (8C,E,G,I) slightley obstructed because they are over (but not blocked by) lifeboats and are in the indented part of the ship and could be slightly obstucted on the side, especially if you are located right next to a cabin that sticks out farther than yours.
