I was just wondering if anyone out there ever won a free cruise? I won a caribbean cruise a few years ago and it was excellent! Everything was taken care of the flight and the cruise, no strings attached. The only thing I paid for was the tips, excursions and the drinks of course. I was just checking to see if anyone else had the excitement of winning a free cruise? Oh and now I am hooked on cruising! Planning my 3rd next April.
My dad won us a 4-day cruise years ago, but it was only the cruise I believe. We had to have our own transportation.
It was kinda cool, because our first cruise we were in a hurricane, so we got some money back plus a big discount on a future cruise. So on our second cruise we used the discount.... after returning home some months later my dad won us our 4-day cruise . So our first 3 cruises we got for dang cheap! But after the 3rd cruise we couldn't stop. So we went on a couple more . He went on 2 more after that and I've been on 4 more . That darn cruising is addicting!! :-)

Never won a real cruise. I have won and still do win about a half dozen times a month a 'free cruise' but it is anything but 'free' when you really look into it. I toss those 'winning' where they belong, in the trash.
I never won a cruise but I won a trip for 2 to Memphis with tour of Graceland included. I sent the extra ticket to my best friend that lives in Texas. We dont see each other often so it was a great reunion. We did do a dinner cruise on the Memphis Belle. Had a good time.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.“
Not exactly WON, but awarded/earned a free cruise through business dealings. It was out first cruise, a short 3 dayer out of San Juan. We were hooked for life. The flight, a two day pre-cruise with excursions and all food were taken care of, along with a balcony cabin and a gift every night. Pretty nice. All other types of vacationing have pretty much fallen by the wayside since then!
My sister won a cruise for two a few years ago. All expenses paid. Airline tickets to Florida, hotel the night before sailing and a suite on the ship. She got a big surprise though at the end of the year when she found out that her winnings were considered income by the IRS and she had to pay taxes on the total amount which was listed as $8,000. She still had a great time, just no tax refund for that year!

I won a free cruise, tips, transfers and airfare from a new store opening. Taco Cabana opened a new store by our house and we went for lunch and I put my entry in the box. Several weeks later I received this package from Airborne and at first thought it was a scam(almost threw it away!) but I investigated it closer and found out it was legit. I was thrilled. We flew to Orlando and sailed out of Port Canaveral on the Fantasy. We had an awesome time and being free made it even better! Only down side...I received a 1099 at the end of the year that I had to claim on taxes. So the old saying, Nothing in life is FREE, is so true.
I won a 4-day cruise when I was 18....It was on the Royal Majesty which is now the NCL Majesty...It was a great ship....I won it by putting in my comment card on the last night on the ship...The next morning they had the drawing and called my name....I was so excited...It included everything except the transportation to the ship...But that was no problem since I lived in Florida...
yes, ay the Honda dealership where I work, we had a promotion in March that gave a 3 night Carival cruise for free for 2. So I traded in my Element on another one (same orange) and sold myself a car so I could get a free cruise. I am not sure if it was a good idea but it seemed like it. I still have to pay $120 PP port charges.

thanks for all the replys! Nice to see that some of you also had luck. I know that many of the contest you enter are scams but not all. In the rare occasion they are on the up and up.
Now only if I could win the apprentice cruise aboard the Carnival Legend. lol lol
My hubby laughs when I enter all these draws, but he was the first to jump at the chance to join me when I won a real cruise.
I won a cruise 21 years ago on the brand new Carnival Ship "Tropicale". We had a great time. It sailed out of Long Beach, CA and did the Mexican Riviera ports of Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas.
Mazatlan had a little cantina called "Senor Frogs"...the only one at that time, I was told. It has expanded somewhat in the years since. ;-)
Cabo San Lucas was very primitive... beautiful. They took us to the only resort in town.
We pulled into Puerto Vallarta in the middle of the night. My wife was sleeping with very little on (her smile). She got up and opened the curtains on the picture windows to look outside. The Pacific Princess had pulled in next to us in the night...anyone on deck got quite a show. <>
I did! Back in the days when you bought raffle tickets in the casino. We ended up taking a 7 day trip on the Elation when it was on the west coast down to Mexico and we had one of their cat. 12 rooms. It was great. We did have to pay port and taxes and then it showed up as a $4000- win for our taxes. No such luck in bingo though.
Have a great cruise all!!
Carnival Splendor (3 days of towing back to port)
Not personally, but my hubby's barber won the free cruise playing "win a free cruise" bingo onboard. Then, when he took his free cruise, he won another at the same bingo! On the next free cruise, though, his winning streak ended.
MY TA won a cruise once she said but it was for a specific sailing time frame and she said with the taxes she had to pay on it, she could have booked herself the same cruise on a different date for cheaper! OMG!
Never! But we had table mates at dinner who were on their free cruise from a bingo game on a previous cruise. The next afternoon they were playing bingo again for a free cruise and he got bingo. Too bad for him, another person also got bingo on that last call and they had a coin flip to determine the winner and our tablemate lost.
Didn't win one but, had a surprize bonus at the end of a really big project at work and the boss gave us (hubby and I) a 7day cruise out of LA on the Jubilee, plus airfare and a week off work with pay!! That was our first cruise....number 10 coming up in Jan!
wow akcruiser, the boss giving a vacation like that is the same as winning it. Excellent!
Paying for a cruise is so worth it because it is an excellent vacation but winning it just feels so great.
I think that every boss should consider giving the employee that is so dedicated, a free cruise. lol
Heck they should have a national holiday called free cruise day. hehehe I know once people try cruising they would get addicted just like the rest of us.
