I understand that Elation is keeping the Progresso stop.

On the other hand, cruzinfan, I think that some sort of explaination should be on the docs.....Very Poorly done, Carnival!

I read the documents and it says that in the event of an itenarary change your travel agent will notify you and that you will have 24 hrs to cancel w/o penalty. Otherwise you will get a 20 per person credit. So apparantly my travel agent has failed to bring this to our attention. Not that I care, not going to Progresso is no big deal to me but I know it is to some other people.

20% credit could be significant. I would contact my TA and inform them of the situation. If TA can't (or won't ) work with you on it, I would try calling Carnival.

A lot of cruise sites onlne still list Progresso as a port stop. I think there will be a lot of diappointed cruisers.

Carnival indicates a $20 credit for missed ports, not 20%

My family and I are on the Glory 7/2 cruise. I'm glad I read these messages because I haven't heard this news, yet. I have not received my cruise documents or heard anything from my TA.

This is our first cruise so I don't know if I should be disappointed with only 3 ports or not. We have an excursion lined up for Belize but had planned to just hang out on the beaches and snorkel in Cozumel and Progresso. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do in Cozumel (my kids are 8, 15 and 16)?

You are not missing much. Progresso had very little to do. We had to go there last year because of being diverted by Hurricane Ivan. The only positive thing I remember about Progresso was $1.00 Corona. There just was not a lot there.

Carnival has not notified the TAs yet....... I told my TA about it because we are on the 6/18 sailing,,, But to be honest I am glad we are not going.....

it sounds like progresso is the perfect place to invest and build a C & C or Senor Frogs........

I'm really sorry that you are all so disapointed. I would be upset too.
