How much to put on S&S card if you are using cash?

I was thinking of starting out with $200 and going from there. Does that sound about right? Is there a minimum you have to put down?

That is not really enough I think as your tips will come to $70 pp so that eats most of it up right there. $400 is a more reasonable #. Even those that watch their money often spend that much without tips. I know we do. You should not worry as if you have too much they will refund you the excess the morning of departure in a check right there. They night even cash it for you as they did mine once.

Well, my tips are prepaid and I don't drink or gamble. I guess I will go with the $400, though.

We just got back this morning (Triumph out of Charleston) and used cash for our sail and sign. We put $1000.00 on the S&S, cashed out last night and got back a little over $600.00. I had figured we would spend more than that, but am happy we didn't. :-) The leftover cash will go towards another cruise. LOL

Most recommendations on this board are for $50-$100 per person, per day.

We are on the low side with about $50 per person/per day and that *includes* our tips. We usually only do one shore excursion, don't drink enormous amounts and gamble just a bit.
