I know Carnival has or had a rep for being the party boat, but do the play any Buffett?
Our last cruise did not. We are hoping that this one does! I could see myself sitting poolside with a frozen drink in hand listening to "One Particular Harbour" as we set sail.........If not, I guess we are going to have to bring our own and go on our own deck!
I always take my own just in case the ship doesn't play it. Nothing like sitting up on the sun deck with a drink in one hand and the sun on your skin listening to "Margaritaville"!! The sun deck is also a great place for peace and quite. Only adults allowed!
We love it too - we bring a CD player and ear peices to listen on the pool deck. One RCL cruise we were on played him constantly so we didnt' have to listen to our own... But we like it in the cabin too so we bring it always... Have you bought the newer two disc set? Or have you seen the DVD - mini concert? It is real good.. Debbie

I wonder what it would take to persuade Jimmy to cruise with us!!
That would be my dream come true cruise.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.“
Cruznut........Come this monday, We (hubby, 2 kids and myself) are going to his concert up here in Massachusetts.....Sure wish I could get to ask him, at least I'll try my best.
Could you all imagine?????? What a party that would be!
What ship were you on? We went on the Soveriegn of the seas. No Buffett there.
I just got my husband the 4 box set. Almost $70.00, but has just about everything on it.
Going to see Jimmy this monday at a concert. Got a grass skirt and a bunch of lei's and of course a big parrot hat!
If "ANYONE" can get Jimmy on a cruise----P L E A S E - P L E A S E let me know!!!!!
We always try to hit a Margaritaville when we cruise... Well this time it will be Key West. And by the way - I always enjoy the hamburgers on a cruise - don't know why but there is just something about eating a burger while tanning on deck...
Imagine 9/3/05 (back to back) didn't get to go in 2004 so HB booked a 9 day one....
We were on the Rhapsody of the Seas in 2002 out of Glaveston and they played Buffett constantly - it was nice. We actually enjoy the layout of the ships much more on Carnival but at the time Carnival did not have a 7 night cruise out of Galveston so went on RCL. Debbie
Had to comment--see the screen name? I recall the pool band playing a few of the songs-- but one Particular Harbor would be my choice too. Plan on bringing the Ipods, maybe some portable speakers for room?
One song line says it best "take me back to the island..." just listening at home gets me reved up, TA said mailed out the DOCS today woohoo.

Ok all you parrot heads.........I got one for you.
In the song " one particular harbor" Jimmy sings in a different language. What is it?
I think it's Cajun, but DH thinks it's spanish. I just don't know, does anyone? Thanks.
Longtime parrothead here. My first cruise ever was sponsored by the Richmond Parrothead Club. We brought along our own band -- A1A -- and in addition to the parties on the ship (Ectasy), the band played at M-ville in Key West and Carlos & Charlies in Cozumel. The Atlanta Parrothead Club runs a cruise every year. Check out PHIP.com for a club chapter near you.
My parrothead club, Ocean City Parrothead Club, every other year is running a cruise. Last year we were about 400 people and went on the Glory. It was wonderful!!! We had 3 happy hours, got shirts, and made lots of friends. We even had a toga party.
Check out the parrothead clubs on the web. Most times anybody is welcome to join along!!!
NO They do not. It was my biggest disappointment on my cruise on the Holiday last week. I only heard the song once when I requested "margaretaville" at the restaurant where we ate lunch in Mexico. It was sung in Spainish by a 3 piece band which was cool, but not as good as the real thing.
