2 weeks before is usually about right. Keep hounding your TA daily, get her to call Carnival to find out exactly when they were/are Fed-Xed out to the agency. Don't get over-stressed about this, you can board the ship without paper documents, the porters at the pier can look-you up on the passenger manifest.
DO you have a booking number?? fill out all the forms on-line before you go. Saves so much time and hassle.
Thanks for the replys and the advice. We did fill out the info online (I gotta get my Hubby to print it out), so we will have that. I'm just getting excited and would like to have the docs. I'll call my travel agent and get her to find out when they were mailed.
Aren't your luggage tags in with the info? Without them will your luggage still end up in your room? I guess you could just have them labled with your name, address etc and they would figure it out.
Can ya tell I haven't done this too many times?!? lol (This will be my 3rd cruise...can't wait!)
Don't worry about the docs if you don't get them. As long as you have your booking number, and Carnival recognizes it (which it looks like they do because you have filled out your fun pass online) that is all you need. You're good to go!
We just received our docs Monday for our cruise July 25. We booked directly with Carnival so they came to us in the mail. It sure makes it exciting for some reason even though it's just paper. When you book in January it seems so far off.
Val - about the luggage, if you don't have your documents, don't give up your luggage until you check in with the porter and get the correct luggage tags to fill out to make sure that your bags make it to your stateroom.
So far on my 3 cruises with Carnival, my documents have come about 30 days prior to sailing and this was with specific cabin assignments and gty cabins, and I have used TA's all 3 times, one in Tampa here and one in Miami...I would think that "documents" are about to become a thing of the past with all the "e ticketing" I would think with the online "fun pass" system they can mail you a single sheet of paper and your luggage tags and reduce that $12-20 mailing surcharge (handling charge, processing fee) you pay the TA.
