Default ft. lauderdale pre-cruise hotel

Hi everyone! Girlfreind and I are sailing on Liberty out of ft. lauderdale on Nov. 26th and was wondering if anyone could help me out in selecting a good pre-cruise hotel. Many thanks and happy cruising

We are on the same cruise and we used Priceline and got the Bahia Mar Beach Resort for our post-cruise stay for $85. They wouldn't accept the same bid for our pre-cruise, probably because it's the day after Thanksgiving, so we used our Gov't rate at the Hyatt.

I too used Priceline and for a bid of $60 I got a room for 2 @ the airport LaQuinta Inn. With taxes and all it comes to $74.94. This is for Friday night, 3/03/06. My understanding is that the rooms in the Ft. Lauderdale area aren't that cheap so you might try this option.

There is also an Embassy Suites on 17th Street in Fort Lauderdale, don't know what their prices are for November....the hotel is maybe a mile from the Port.

Embassy Suites - great hotel - shuttle service from airport to hotel from hotel to pier. Really nice pool. Full breakfast and cocktail hour included in price. Large rooms , very clean, centrally located - grocery store right across the street, strip mall next door. Good restaurants within walking distance.
Marriott Marina - very nice hotel, right on the waterway, large yachts docked at the hotel, really nice pool area and bar that overlooks the waterway.

Using Priceline, bid 3 star downtown zone, and bid around $75. You should get Marriott, or Renaissance. Both nice hotels within minutes of the pier.

Rose & Lisa, We tried the Embassy Suites (our favorite) but we were told they were booked already because it's the holiday weekend.

Kuki, we used the info from the aritcle you wrote but I guess because of holiday time, we had to go higher and only snagged the Bahia Mar. Your info was helpful when we bid in Vancouver...we got the Hyatt for only $77!! Thanks. Teresa

We stayed at the,
Sheraton Yankee Trader Hotel
321 N. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd. (Route A1A)
Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33304

The hotel wasn't to bad in price but you MUST go eat dinner at Shula's Steakhouse. The steakhouse was expensive but is very good (150.00 for 2).

Good luck

Last time we stayed at the Days Inn in Hollywood FL. We are booked to stay there again in October, it was really a great deal. They also had a nice continental breakfast in the morning.... we also used their free shuttle service. I would recomend it to anyone

Have a great cruise!
