I am wondering if I got a good deal for my balcony cabin. I paid $985 total including port charges and taxes. The sailing is Feb 11th 2006. Would love to hear some feedback.
I paid only $775 for 7 days on Victory, Eastern Carribean, 8C..... Sept 4th. Guess it is much cheaper during HURRICANE season!!! Wish me luck that we miss the bad weather!!!

It, of course, depends on the ship and the category AND the month. We found out there can be a bigger difference between an 8A and an 8G than you would think. We wanted a specific cabin (aft balcony) this time, so paid a bit more for an 8E. We are cruising Sept 11, so the "hurricane discount" made it possible for us to book that cabin.
Sounds as though you did pretty well.

Am on the Glory 10/15/05. Paid $1,800.00. total for 2 adults and 1 child for balcony cabin. Took the balcony guarantee, so I don't know what deck or room.
Wow.. I always thought balcony was sooooo expensive.. We're looking at going on the Carnival Legend 8 days E Carib, and paying $799 pp for INSIDE stateroom DURING HURRICANE season.. ouch.. but in review of other websites, I can't see it much less than that anywhere else for the exact same cruise/ship/itinerary .. Am I just not looking in the right spots? Or talking to the right people?
Our rate is not with airfare this time. We are driving down from Delaware this time and coming in a day early. Even if we did air it would not have been with the cruiseline. they wanted about 400pp and i can get it now for between 143 and 163pp/rt.We also have the past guest discount on our balcony. AS for being on the Lido deck that is the highest we have ever been. As i told the hubby it is that much closer to the food and the pool.
May I ask you (and anyone else) where you're booking through. I just paid a lot more for the lowest grade inside cabin for a June 22, 2005 cruise for my daughter and wonder how I could have done better - future reference of course! Thanks.
We paid approx. $1,300 for our Verandah balcony room on the Glory in 3 days We actually took advantage of one of Carnival's promotions when we booked and got bumped up 2 categories...thats how we ended up on the Verandah.
Happy sailing everyone
I just booked a 8b (double balcony) for 1/6/06 at $799 per person - this was with my past guest promtion and I only took a single upgrade so that I could have the double balcony on the Empress deck.
From your very vaque discription of your cruise, one can not tell whether you got a good deal or not. When is your cruise, how long is your cruise, where are you going, what deck are you on and on what part of the ship is your cabin? More than likely, you did fine as far as the price if you bought through Carnival or one of the many reputable brokers such as cruise.com. Enjoy your cruise!
I paid 880, per person Balcony aft deck 6 Glory 10/15/05
I can't wait. Elation has no baclony in less you get a suite.paid 549 for ocean view deck 6 sailing 9/11/05
